Section 1. Material Identification

Product Name: Lube Base Oil Grade 150 BS
Product Information: Lube Base Oil is made by separating the undesirable components from the desirable
ones which are present in the portion of crude oil remaining after the fuel fractions have been separated in the
Atmospheric Distillation Tower. This portion of crude oil is fed to the Vacuum Distillation Unit to separate into
several lube oil fractions according to viscosity ranges. The lube oil fraction 150BS is deasphalted, solvent
treated, hydrofined and dewaxed and has a vicosity of 150 Saybolt Universal Second (SUS) at 210°F. This
viscosity unit is now phased out in favor of the SI unit. The common SI unit for viscosity is centistoke (cSt) which
is equivalent to 30.6 cSt at 100°C for 150 BS (See Section 9). One to three Lube Base Oils are blended together
with as many as six chemical additives to manufacture crankcase oils and industrial lubricating oils to suit any
particular application.
Other Designations: Residual oils, petroleum, hydrotreated, 150 Bright Stock.
Section 2. Hazards Identification
GHS Classification : Not classified
