INTRODUCTION:-

Recruitment and Selection is an important operation in HRM,


designed to maximize employee strength in order to meet the employer's
strategic goals and objectives. It is a process of sourcing, screening, shortlisting
and selecting the right candidates for the required vacant positions. This is a brief
introductory tutorial that explains different methods of hiring and how to make
effective and efficient utilization of Recruitment and Selection. In addition, it
also explains the best recruitment practices for specific requirements.

THESCOPE OF RECRUITMENT AND SELECTION

The present study covers HRM practices in GVPR Engineers limited in general and
recruitment and selection in particular.

A PROFILE OF GVPR ENGINEERS LIMITED

GVPR Engineers Limited (GVPR) is one of the fast emerging infrastructure


companies in the country, with expertise in civil engineering. GVPR is an ISO
9001:2008 certified infra company. It was founded in the year 1997 by its mentor
and Chairman Sri GSP Veera Reddy with a mission to build a world-class
infrastructure company with impeccable standards of professionalism, ethics and
customer service. GVPR is actively engaged in constructing world class
infrastructure projects in the field of irrigation, transport, power, building, ports
and water supply, etc. GVPR with a strong financial background, experienced
manpower and machinery is capable of undertaking projects of any magnitude.
The company has actively partnered with reputed companies as the lead partner
to bid for large scale projects by entering into Joint Ventures and forming
consortiums. The 18 continuous years of dedicated effort, quality construction,
timely delivery and enhanced service of GVPR can only speak volumes of its
effective presence in India.

NEED FOR THE STUDY:


The study is done in order to assess the necessity of the sound recruitment
and selection in the company, understand the steps taken by the top
companies in the country to keep the industrial peace, to learn the
strategies adopted by the company in order to maintain relations with trade
unions, to know about the various schemes proposed in a prestigious
company like coromandel international limited for the welfare of
employees and workers
and make out the importance of the industrial relations in fertilizer
industry.

OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY:

 To study the profile of the organization


 To assess the recruitment and selection practices in GVPR
ENGINEERS LIMITED, HYDERABAD.
 To know the conceptional aspects of recruitment and selection
 To evaluate sources of recruitment and selection in the sample
industry.
 To offer suggestions if any

SCOPE OF THE STUDY:


The scope of the study restricted itself to the analysis of opinions of
personnel in GVPR Engineers limited about the prevailing recruitment and
selection and it is confined to one industry. This is limited to head office.

METHODOLOGY OF STUDY:

RESEARCH comprises "creative work undertaken on a systematic basis in


order to increase the stock of knowledge, including knowledge of man, culture
and society, and the use of this stock of knowledge to devise new applications.

RESEARCH PROCESS

Research is often conducted using the hourglass model structure of research.


The hourglass model starts with a broad spectrum for research, focusing on the
required information through the method of the project (like the neck of the
hourglass), then expands the research in the form of discussion and results. The
major steps in conducting research are:
 Identification of research problem
 Literature review
 Specifying the purpose of research
 Determine specific research questions or hypotheses
 Data collection
 Analyzing and interpreting the data
 Reporting and evaluating research
 Communicating the research findings and, possibly,
recommendations

IMPORTANCE OF RESEARCH

 Research is the application of science to art of management. All


business undertaking operates in a world of uncertainty.
 Research Methodology minimizes the degree of uncertainty
involved in management decisions.
 Research reduces the probability of making a wrong choice amongst
alternative courses of action.
 Research presents systematic supply of information coupled with
tools of analysis for making sound decisions which involve
minimum risk.
 Research has got significant role in areas like marketing, finance,
materials, human resources development and governance.
UNIVERSE AND SAMPLE: GVPR ENGINEERS LIMITED is
having the total manpower is around 1200 employees as universe for
which we have taken around 120 members for sample survey .The
sampling technique used for this study is Random sampling technique.
DATA COLLECTION:

There are mainly two types of data in research process. They can be
summarized as:

i) Primary Data:

Primary data will be collected by the researcher directly through instruments


such as surveys, interviews, focus groups or observation. Tailored to specific
needs, primary research provides the researcher with the most accurate and up-
to-date data

Sample size: 100

ii) Secondary Data:

Secondary data, on the other hand, is basically primary data collected by


someone else. Researchers reuse and repurpose information as secondary data
because it is easier and less expensive to collect. However, it is seldom as
useful and accurate as primary data.

DATA COLLECTION METHODS:

The present study performs a systematic and exploratory analysis approach to


investigate the impact of non-monetary motivators’ applications in enhancing
productivity.

A survey approach was adopted forth for study and the data was obtained by
means of a questionnaire prepared in English. Thorough discussions were held
with HR experts to finalize the items of the questionnaire. Several HR
managers were interviewed in this regard and their suggestions were included
as much as possible.
The questionnaire contained twenty-five questions which involved even
variables to meet the objectives of this study research. It was structured in
nature and contained open ended questions. The employees are required to
choose one of the alternatives. It was based on Likert’s scale.

The type of data collected with reference to this project is PRIMARY DATA.
Survey will be conducted by selecting a sample and results were interpreted. A
well versed back up has been taken through the secondary data.

LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY:-

 The duration of the study is limited


 The employees may be busy in their work schedule so they were
unable to spare enough time to hive most of the information.
 Because of the small size of the survey it may or may not reflect the
actual opinion of the employees.

 Data may be bias
