Cyber Ethics
• It refers to the code of responsible behavior on the internet.
• It involves understanding the risk of harmful and illegal behavior online.
• It is the learning to protect ourselves and other internet users from illegal behavior.

E-Commerce
• It refers to buying and selling of goods and services using internet.
• It is also known as Electronic Commerce.
Types of E-commerce
a) B2B-Business to Business
b) B2C-Business to consumer
c) C2B-Consumer to Business
d) C2C-Consumer to consumer
e) B2G-Business to Government

Privacy in E-commerce
• Privacy is the protection of personal information we have given online.
• Information must be accessible to authorized people only.

How to safe guard user’s privacy


i) Go through the terms and conditions before making any account or transactions.
ii) Ensure the use of https protocol.
iii) The website address must have a padlock sign.
iv) The merchant make sure that the user has gone through the terms and
conditions given on the site

Fraud in E-commerce
• Fraud refers to illegal actions committed intentionally in order to gain money or any other
benefit.
• Fraud committed using internet is called online fraud.

Types of fraud are-


➢ Refund fraud- Fraud user’s payment
➢ Merchant fraud- non delivered goods
➢ Fraud via identity theft-non existing companies.
➢ Friendly fraud- stealing personal information.
Secure data transmission
• It refers to transfer of data or information over a secure channel.
• It means transferring data with applying enough technical safeguard to ensure its
privacy
• It is based on the following aspects-
i) Confidentiality
ii) Integrity
iii) Availability
iv) Authenticity
v) Encryption
• Security protocol- SSL(secure socket layer)
1. SSL establishes encrypted link between a web browser and server.
2. It ensures that the transmitted data remains encrypted and safe.
