CHAPTER ONE

1.1 BUSINESS NAME


The official business name will be ‘’SENIOR MOBILE SPARES’’ and will be located in Samburu
county. The site will be located along Maralal Kisima Highway Sungura Plaza Building, second
floor, shop I, II and III which will be easily accessible by customers in need of mobile spares, as
soon as the business starts, it will be sole proprietorship and in future will extend until it become
famous all over the country. The aim of the business will offer mobile spares and technicians
who will be fixing the accessories purchased by the customers. This will ensures that when
customers purchases spares he/she will not struggle harder searching for technicians who will
assist to fix the purchased item.

1.1 Background of owner


The owner of the business will be Mr. Robert Joshua age 23, a Kenyan citizen. Also the owner is a
continuing student of MILELE AFRICA INSTITUTE OF DEVELOPMENT AND
TECHNOLOGY pursuing certificate in Electrical and Electronic engineering (power option)
course
He is a resident of Samburu West Constituency in Samburu County
The course duration is two years module program and owner will start a business on 2026 after
completion of the course, since the course constitute many units to learn entrepreneur education
subject dealing with business and this will help the owner to start a business and manage it
properly despite the challenges that will arise.

1.2 Nature of the business


The business will be called ‘’SENIOR MOBILE SPARES’’ derived by reversing the name
“SENIOR LANG”. Owner’s user name on all social media platforms.
The business will be started after the completion of the course that is 2026 and will operate as a
company dealing with mobile spares and technicians, whose work is to fix the equipment/ items
purchase by the customers.

Since the business will be located in town, it will be able to attract many customers because it will
provide best quality and quantity to customers and services that will be offering.

The business will be next to main highway stage thus reaching many customers especially those who
will be traveling to another counties and far places this will market its services and product

that will be offered in the company.
The company will be stocked at the end of every month and the accessories will be purchased at
Dama mobile spares, Nairobi. Offering the best products and services.

1.6 Justification of opportunities


The business owner will ensure that it met customer’s needs by ensuring that it facilitates the
supply and delivery of goods that will be accessible by the customers since it will be located in
an accessible location and sure place. Also the rate of unemployment is rapid in the county , the
business will create vacant jobs both for owner and the people leaving around the area where the
business is located such it ensure smooth running.

Since the business is somehow new at the area located and many people have not think to start
some business of selling electronic accessories.

1.7 Industry
The business is under electronics industry that concerns with electrical and electronics
equipment.

1.8 Business goals


The main aim or objective of the business will be to have good goals that will be achievable. The
premises will be also open from Monday to Saturday from 8:00am to 6.30pm to meet objectives
in terms of short term and long term goals. These goals are:
i. To create employment to the residents within that area.
ii. To promote growth in the area.
iii. To provide productive environment for the workers.
iv. To increase market.

A. Entry strategy

An intensive market carried out interviewing people to determining the nature of business and
product. That business may offer the requested product for electronic products and accessories.
This implies that the people in the market will buy then within ease way hence making the
business to have a warm entry to the market.

B. Business growth

Business will be facilitated by regularly advertising the business to the people/customers through
the mass media like social media, radio and newspaper. This will facilitate growth of the business
since it will be persuaded to buy the product hence facilitating grown of business.

2.1 Marketing/business plan


The aim of the business will be to satisfy the needs of the customers demand and ensure that all
profit will be maximized by marketing the product.

2.2 CUSTOMERS
Business will be dealing with mobile spares only and technicians also would be available and
customers will come from Samburu County.

I. Individual Customers. Individual customers will be those who will be buying from company.
The company will take chance to sale products to individual customers hence achieving profits.

II. Institution. These are institution that mainly offer electrical education course in nearby
business and will demand electronics materials for practices, this will create ready market.

III. Commercial Customers. This includes other companies who will be buying products in bulk.

In Samburu County they will be also another electronics dealer who will be offering the same product
thus since SENIOR MOBILE SPARES win their upcoming business then the business will have a
market share of 40% since the number of the customers growing as the business cub the market.

Since in business there will be health completion in business the major competition of the
proposed business are those individual offering the same business in the market to sell their

telephone number to the customers. This enhances main advantage of creating awareness to
customers through knowing exact location of the business and it will cost about Ksh 8,000 per
Month.

B. Mass media

Mass media pass information to customers regarding the business hence creating awareness to
customers.

The radio broadcasting will be done in Kiswhaili Radio station Radio Citizen FM because it
will communicate to all people within the country and also Serian FM which is Samburu Radio
station. Advertisement will be done differently on radio station Serian FM on (Monday and
Wednesday) and Radio Citizen FM on (Thursday and Friday) reason for doing that is that
information to reach everyone within the country, the company use 20,000 per month.

The business will promote the product by applying the following mechanisms:

Business should set affordable prices so that more customers can afford products and services of
the business will be of good quality and high quality services

Varies products will be developed according to the moving trend in the market hence proving
technician who help in fixing customers hence meets the needs of customers

B) Product facilities and capacity

The business will purchase computer to enhance efficiency in the management and selling of
products. The business also will buy product of high quality and looking forward in coming up
with the latest design and products that will competitive in the market. The business also will
have vehicles for transporting product to various parts hence business growing also business will
have different rooms for various staff having computers and they are furnished to standard.

Business will send letter of inquiry to various suppliers to find out about prices and quality of
goods offered.

Different supplies send back a quotation according to the goods they are ready to supply.

a. Purchase order. After receiving the quotation the business secret the supplier whose prices are
lower in order to spend less money.

b. Reception goods. The business receives goods that have ordered before the remaining
stock is finished.

c. Sales transport will be offered for bulky products to various party

d. Payment of the sold product. Customers pay for the products they have already ordered
and received. Customers will be given receipt after payment

e. Packaging. Products are packed according to their categories and large volume of
products will be packed in cartons.

E). Government Regulations. The business also abides on the rules and regulations given
by the government that is supposed to govern the business at large.

Employees working for maximum of 1hrs a day also regulation need well health person to
