2-4 LED Indicator setting

Auto Mode

The detector automatically captures X-ray without interface to the generator in the auto mode. With
this mode, no extra equipment is required when upgrading an existing X-ray system with ATAL Series.
LED indicator for auto mode shows X-ray exposure timing in ATAL Series.

Standby mode Ready

Exposure (Blinking) Successful Acquisition

1st DR: This indicates ATAL Series is working normally, and flickering light means there is an
incoming image. The indicating lights will be turned off after the completion of image creation.

Ready: This indicates ATAL Series is in preparation. While this light is on, the user may not obtain an
image, thus do not expose X-ray. Indicating time is approximately 1 second.

Exposure: This indicates ATAL Series is ready to be exposed to X-ray; the light will blink when
exposure time left 3 seconds. At this moment it is not possible to obtain an image, therefore do not
expose X-ray. Indication time can be modified by user preferences.

2nd DR: This indicator only functions when second detector is connected, and represents that second
instrument is working normally. It has exactly same functions as 1st DR.

Tip.
No hand switch or generator connection is needed for auto mode.

28 Rev. 00
Manual for ATAL series

Auto Mode Ver. 8.0.2.3

Manual Mode

Manual mode requires the detector and X-ray generator coupled. If interlocking system is requested,
sync cable should be set up in between generator and LED indicator. The indicator in manual mode is
the indication of X-ray system condition.

Standby mode Ready

Exposure (Blinking) Successful Acquisition

Comparing to auto mode, LED indicator in manual mode works differently since manual mode is
coupled with generator.

1st DR: This indicates ATAL Series is connected normally, and there is an incoming image when
flickering. Light will disappear afterwards the completion of image processing.

Ready: This will automatically be turned on at the same the user engage ready button on the console
pad or hand switch.

Exposure: This indicator will be turned on by engaging exposure switch on console pad or hand
switch. Ready light will engage at the same time.

Calibration

5-1 Calibration Data Installation

Caution.
Allow at least 30 minutes to warm up for the maximum performance of instrument.

ATAL Series requires calibration data for best quality imaging. An optimal calibration data for ATAL
Series has been provided on the ATAL CD. In case of lost or broken ATAL CD, however, the user
may perform calibration with ATAL Manager.

Insert ATAL CD.

Copy ‘Calibration Data’ folder.
Create ‘C://DR_data/’ folder, and paste ‘Calibration data’ folder into the ‘DR_data’ folder.

The calibration data destination folder varies depending on what acquisition program the user utilizes.
Check the destination folder first when creating calibration data.

Caution.
Both ‘ATAL.ini’ file and the calibration data must be saved in the same folder. Otherwise,
ATAL Series will not be able to read the calibration data. For more information for
‘ATAL.ini’ file, see Appendix: 1. ‘ATAL.ini’ file setting & 2. ‘FGA’ setting.

Tip.
These calibration data creation instructions are not necessary for the user who uses the
calibration data provided.

If there is no calibration data in the designated destination, the warning message above
will show up.

If the ground system has been installed inadequately in a hospital building, the user may feel the
electricity leakage on the detector. To solve this issue, the ground installation should be performed on
the X-Ray system is necessary.
(The ground cable which is manufactured by “IEC 60227-3 450/750V” standard should be utilized.)

Ungrounded Grounded

Find a ground terminal first. There is the ground terminal installed in the socket for the recent
buildings, but there might be no ground terminal installed for the old buildings. If there is no possible
terminal, please look for main power supply for the X-Ray system rather than the socket.

To check the ground terminal, please follow the steps below.

Measure the alternating current voltage with a multi tester (220V)

Normal ground

Ungrounded

For normal ground condition, the alternating current voltage should be measured as above – one will
be measured as almost 220V and the other will be almost 0.
For ungrounded condition, the measuring value will be almost half of 220V whichever socket is
measured.
