(PROSECUTORS CALLS THE TRIAL TO START AND THE INTRODUCTION OF THE PLAINTIFF)

(PLAINTIFF LAWYER)

Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, my name is [Plaintiff's Attorney Name], and I represent
[Deceased's Name]'s family in this pursuit of justice.

Today, we stand before you not just to recount a tragedy, but to present the undeniable truth of
what happened to [Deceased's Name]. The evidence will meticulously reveal a horrifying sequence
of events, a brutal assault that culminated in the senseless taking of a precious life.

We will show you how the defendant, [Defendant's Name], meticulously planned and executed a
violent act against [Deceased's Name]. You will hear testimony from forensic experts who will
detail the irrefutable physical evidence linking the defendant directly to the scene of the crime and
to the victim. You will see the cold, hard facts uncovered through diligent investigation, facts that
paint a clear and disturbing picture of guilt.

We understand the gravity of these allegations. We know that rape and murder are the most
heinous of crimes. Therefore, we have gathered compelling and irrefutable evidence that will leave
no reasonable doubt in your minds that the defendant is responsible for the unspeakable acts
committed against [Deceased's Name].

Over the course of this trial, we will piece together the final moments of [Deceased's Name]'s life,
not to sensationalize, but to illuminate the truth. We will demonstrate how the defendant's actions
robbed [Deceased's Name] of their future and forever shattered the lives of their loved ones.

By the end of this trial, the evidence will be clear, the truth will be undeniable, and we will ask you
to hold the defendant accountable for the devastating crimes they have committed. We are
confident that you will see that justice demands a verdict of guilty. Thank you.

(DEFENDANT MAKES HIS OPENING STATEMENT)

Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, my name is [Defense Attorney Name], and I represent
[Defendant's Name]. The prosecution has presented a story, but that is only one version of events.
We are here today because a terrible crime was committed, and the prosecution is trying to pin it
on the wrong person.

The evidence in this case will show that [Defendant's Name] is not the only person who had a
connection to [Deceased's Name] or the crime scene. We will present evidence of [Alternative
Suspect] and their opportunity, motive, and potentially even a history that casts doubt on the
prosecution's theory.

You will see that the investigation was flawed, that crucial leads were ignored, and that the
prosecution jumped to conclusions. Our job is to protect [Defendant's Name]'s rights, and we
believe that the evidence points to a different conclusion altogether. We ask you to consider all the
evidence, to look beyond the prosecution's narrative, and to deliver a just verdict: not guilty.

(PLAINTIFF CALLS WITNESS #1)

(OATH OF TESTIMONY CONDUCTED BY THE JUDGE) Do you solemnly swear or affirm that the
testimony you are about to give in this case now pending before this court shall be the truth, the
whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help you God?

1. Please state your name and address for the record.

2. What were you doing at that time?
3. Could you please describe what you observed happening at the intersection of [Street 1] at
that time?
4. Why did you go there?
5. Did you see [Deceased's Name]?
6. Do you have any relationship to the plaintiff, [Plaintiff's Name], or the defendant,
[Defendant's Name]?
7. What was [Deceased's Name]'s condition?

(DEFENDANT CROSS-EXAMINES THE WITNESS BROUGHT BY THE PLAINTIFF)

(ask rics for his questions and for a question that is not relevant to the case)

“Objection, your honor”

(counsel for defendant will present his witness and evidences)…
