The strengths of this company includes amongst others;

• Full container load meaning that a single shippers good occupies an entire shipping

container

• Air freight and Direct ocean carrier contracts refere to the transportation of goods by

aircraft which is more faster than the other mode of transport while direct ocean carrier

to , or lower than, the prises charged by its competitors in the market

• Warehousing; Maviy Logistics is equipped with a well-structured warehouse that can store

customers goods upon arrival temporally when the goods stays longer than one month a fee of 500

francs is included to the warehousing fee each day the good stays in the warehouse after the one

month

19
4.2. WEAKNESSES OF MAVIY LOGISTICS

The weaknesses of this company include;

• Financial problems; MAVIY LOGISTICS faces problems of finance because they use a

large amount of handling equipment such as clamps to ease work whereas this money could

be saved or invested in something which will yield enough profit that is rapidly for the

buying of company working equipment rather than sending out money in the name of

handling equipment for hours at a lesser cost

• Poor customers Services; The nature of the industry involves a number of different global

shipping partners, freight forwarders thereby ensure that their partners share accurate and

timely information with them in order to provide excellent customers services can be quite

a different factor between companies. Take for example MAVIY LOGISTICS has partners

in Douala which are Dipson Hotel, Bali Credit Union.

• Unfavorable working conditions for employees; This is to say that employees are

supposed to be in a conducive working place reason being that the employee's satisfaction

at work would lead to the works efficiency a n d good customers satisfaction the reverse

is true

• Lack of proper training of interns due to lack of resources

• Management issues of goods inventories

Their projects include optimizing transportation routes, utilizing advanced technology,

cargo quickly and reliably

Acting as third party logistics they pick up the customers goods from the origin, transport them

securely to their required destination and then hand over the goods to the predetermined recipient

or receiver

The company has goods transportation vehicles which facilitate the carriage of goods from the

warehouse to the customer door step. The company renders this service at affordable prices to the

customer’s advantage depending on the size and weight of the goods also according to negotiations

that were carried out

4.4. THREATS OF THE ORGANISATION

Some probable threats identified at the company include; their demand planning is complex

Rising inflation of prices of goods imported or exported

4.5. STUDENTS IMPRESSION

Internship at MAVIY LOGISTICS was educative and also based on creating connection with

employees and customers both beneficial to the intern and the employers. This segment is split into

two sections positive and negative experience of MAVIY LOGISTICS.

21
4.5.1.Positive experiences

To begin, we learned how to seal cartons such that they do not get damage during transportation,

stocking of cartons in hips of different sizes in the warehouses, making a survey of the number of

cartons in a notepad, their destination and customers order as well as the weights of the various

cartons.

4.5.2.Negative Experiences

• One of the first difficulties encountered by intern during their study period at MAVIY

LOGISTICS is that of the too busy nature of workers the time interval from when we arrived

to when we were attended to was a little too long. The room for asking questions was not

easy to get by interns.

• Another difficulty, was lack of enough practical experiences interns faced challenges due

to limited exposure to real world logistics operations, finding little difficulty in applying

theoretical knowledge to practical situations and may require guidance and support from

experienced colleagues

• Adapting to a fast paced environment, MAVIY LOGISTICS operates in a fast paced and

dynamic environment, with time sensitive tasks and tight deadlines. Interns will have to

struggle to cope with the high work pressure environment, multiple priorities

simultaneously.

• Punctuality issues, the weather condition at times was a challenge

• Disagreement between the workers and customer

22
4.5.3. Possible Solution

There is need for better assiduity for all workers, which can be realized by waking up early enough

to get on time at the job site. The company has to improve in advertisement both nationally and

international

23
CHAPTER FIVE

RECOMMENDATIONS AND CONCLUSION

5.1. RECOMMENDATIONS

It is recommended that, MAVIY LOGISTICS have some weaknesses is being explain below with it

solutions

Due to financial problem, the because of the use of large amount of handling equipment like clamps

to ease work they should save money use to invest in the company equipment

Furthermore poor customer services due to the number of different global shipping partners like

DIPSON HOTEL AND BALI CREDIT UNION IN DOUALA will help to improve customer’s

services there by exchanging information to ease transport

Also, the unfavorable working condition of employees can be solve by putting in place condusive

working environment for these employees to satisfy the workers.

The lack of proper training employees can be solve to put in place by the company to construct or

build the training ground for the trainment of employees another for them to develop their skills .

5.2. CONCLUSION

Due to the above weaknesses MAVIY LOGISTICS encounters threats of a long run short down

might occur if solutions to the weaknesses are not tackled .It is important for interns in Logistics

Company as a whole to seek guidance, ask questions and actively learn from their experiences to

overcome these difficulties and grow professionally.

To Wrap up during our stay at MAVIY LOGISTICS we gained a lot of experience like

distinguishing between the different helmet colours significance, devotion to the job, dedication,

perseverance and loyalty, also being able to distinguish between a supervisor and a logistics agent.
