Likes and dislikes

1. Read the text and check the different ways to express likes and dislikes

My name’s Robert and I’m 22 years old. I am from Ireland; Today I’m writing about
the things that I like and things that I don’t like.

I really like listening to music, I like different types of music but I am crazy for
electronic music, my favorite DJs are Robin Schulz and Calvin Harris. What kind of
music do you like?

I also like watching TV and movies. I like drama movies and sitcoms such as Two
and half men and the Bing Bang Theory. Sometimes I like to go out with my
friends. We go to the movie theater or a bar.

Now, let’s talk about food and drinks. I don’t like fish very much, but I like meat. I
really like fast food such as pizza, hamburgers and French fries,
but my favorite snacks are cookies and nuts.
I also like white coffee. I hate heavy alcoholic drinks! When it comes to fruit. I
really love grapes. Pears are not my favorite. I like apples and I love oranges! I’m
not a fan of vegetables, but my nutritionist says they’re very important. I think he’s
right.

I really hate broccoli, but carrots are ok. I detest cucumber salad, but I like mixed
salad, I’m crazy for mushrooms, but I hate onions.

I love playing cards with my friends. We meet on Saturday afternoons, watch a


movie, drink some beers and later we play for about one or two hours. It’s very fun.

In college I don’t like History very much and I hate Math lessons! Anyway, I like
going to the gym and Art workshops, but I prefer Science because I’m crazy
for animals.

I really enjoy music and I love Portuguese lessons, but my favorite


subject is Biology, of course!

years old. I am a surveyor and I study English at university. I have a hardware
store, so I sell construction materials. I have a brother and a sister. I’m
divorced and I have one child. I love running in the morning and I like going
to the cinema with my son. I dislike cooking or washing the dishes.

Note: When your presentation is ready, copy it in a translator and listen to the
pronunciation several times. Practice your pronunciation.
