There are four essay style questions below.

You are to answer ONE of these questions for your final assessment.
Please think of and find evidence to support your answer and practice answering one of
these questions.

1) Characters in literature can be classified as either dynamic or static characters. A

dynamic character is a character who we see change during the course of the
novel. A static character is a character who remains essentially the same
throughout the novel. Is Elizabeth a dynamic or static character? If dynamic, how

what indications at the end of the novel suggest that she has not changed?

2) Bravery is defined as the quality or state of having or showing mental or moral
strength to face danger, fear, or difficulty. Using this definition guide you pick a
character from the novel and show how they were brave in the face of danger,
fear, and difficulty.

3) In literature there are many types of conflict, with; person versus self, person
versus person, person versus society, and person versus nature being the most
common. With support from the story, find evidence of any three of the four types
of conflict in the story. Make sure your thesis tells your audience which of the
three types is the main conflict.

opposition to the protagonist, which is the main character. Not every antagonist
is human. Sometimes Nature can be the antagonist. With support from the
