 Built in late 1800's, years after the construction of
 University Of Santo Tomas
 Bought the house in 1978
 The Ancestral House was taller at its original construction.

THE STORY BEHIND

“Katatayo lang ng UST, puro talahiban at tatatlo palang mga bahay dito”, said Mrs.
Cruz as she mentioned that she bought the house in 1978 from Miss Africa which
apparently the house itself was built in late 1800s. She does not personaly know
Miss Africa since she only seen this house from a newspaper and that is where she
had a real estate agent that took care of the rest.

ARCHITECTURAL STYLE
FILIPINO COLONIAL HOUSES
Nanay Alicia’s ancestral house is an influence of Spanish American colonial
architecture. The exterior of the house uses woods as wals and has a steep gable
roof before it was renovated. The interior of the house has a “bahay na bato” vibe
for its spacious living area, “calado” on top of division wals, and big Capiz windows
on different areas of the house.

2022 This day and age

At present, the house is preserved by Mrs. Cruz where she lived at the second floor.
The first floor was renovated, and the entire floor was adaptive reused as a rental
space.
