on the job , home or travelling
► 6. Teleconferencing(audio only) and video conferencing( video and audio) have
made online interactive meeting. These allow people to meet together at different
locations to talk and work together.

► HARDWARE- The hardware of a company IT system includes the items that you
can readily see and touch. This includes the desktop and laptop computers,
monitors, keyboards, mice, webcam, printers, data storage devices and cell
phones

► SOFTWARE- This is the name of the programs that enable the hardware to do its
job . These are unseen but essential for the hardware to operate. It includes
system that allows the computer to store, retrieve, manipulate and transmit to
others.
► INTERNET-It is through the internet that the technology is put to work. It allows
business to use the technology to communicate to others, provide information
and even do online shopping.

► Electronic fund transfer allows the bank customer to transfer funds


from one bank account to another and the other account can be
from a different bank.

► Electronic point of sale- This is a payment device where the barcode


of items are read. It is a payment device. It produces itemised bills
for the customer. The data gathered can be used to update stocks

► Using the internet , individuals and businesses are now able to make
business transactions via the world wide web, without having to visit
a physical brick and mortar store. E-Commerce has given rise to
many online stores which permit customers to browse for products
and pay for them electronically

► 1. WORD. –This is a software tool that performs the task of


composing, editing, formatting and printing documents. It creates
letters, reports, minutes and memoranda
► 2. EXCEL- It is a spreadsheet application in accounting for the
creation of ledger records. It enables the documents to be analysed
in rows and columns. It can be used for stock records.
► DATABASE SOFTWARE- Access is a tool used for collecting and
organising information
