1. Introduction
Event management is the application of project management to the creation and development of small
and/or large-scale personal or corporate events such as festivals, conferences, ceremonies, weddings,
formal parties, concerts, or conventions. It involves studying the brand, identifying its target audience,
devising the event concept, and coordinating the technical aspects before actually launching the event.[1]
The events industry now includes events of all sizes from the Olympics down to business breakfast
meetings. Many industries, celebrities, charitable organizations, and interest groups hold events in order
to market their label, build business relationships, raise money, or celebrate achievement.
The process of planning and coordinating the event is usually referred to as event planning and which can include
budgeting, scheduling, site selection, acquiring necessary permits, coordinating transportation and parking,
arranging for speakers or entertainers, arranging décor, event security, catering, coordinating with third-party
vendors, and emergency plans. Each event is different in its nature so process of planning and execution of each
event differs on basis of the type of event.
The event manager Is the person who plans and executes the event, taking responsibility for the creative,
technical, and logistical elements. This includes overall event design, brand building, marketing and
communication strategy, audio-visual production, script writing, logistics, budgeting, negotiation, and client
service.
Due to the complexities involved, the extensive body of knowledge required, and the rapidly changing
environment, event management is frequently cited as one of the most stressful career paths, in line next to
surgeons.[2]
Each time when you saw a program like ‘Film fare’ grants or those pop shows and beauty exhibitions you would

Event management entails the application of management in the creation and development of large-
scale events (Emmers & Wolff, 2008). The process of coordinating and planning events is usually
regarded to as event planning, and it includes a variety of things discussed in the paper (Martin-Flatin,
Jakobson, & Lewis, 2007). In regards to the above information, I work as an event manager at an event
planning company. The company serves as a one-stop shop that offers everything for its customers such
as wedding cakes, fresh flowers, wedding flavors, tables, chairs, draping, lighting, linens among other
items. In achieving its objectives, the company has incorporated an array of stakeholders such as
wedding coordinators, photographers, catering personnel, entertainment person among others. The
company offers a gamut of event planning services in an effort of providing every event the full
attention that it deserves and gives the best services to its customers (Corrado, 2011).
However, the company is faced with is increased competition from other similar industries. The event
planning industry has grown enormously over the last decade, and it is thus, important for the company
to develop strategies for reducing the associated competition (Constantin ides, 2006). According to
Allen & Gale (2004) direct competition that the many companies face such as my company exists in
cases where companies produce similar goods and products meant to target similar customers or
market segment. Enterprises and businesses are strongly affected by completion. The nature and range
of services and goods that they sell as well as the prices that they charge on the commodities is greatly
influenced by the level of completion in the particular industry (Tjosvold, Johnson, Johnson, & Sun,
2006). For an enterprise to be successful, it is thus, paramount for it to recognize the need to adapt to
the ever-changing global business environment to be able to get the competitive edge over its rivals
(Allon & Federgruen, 2007). In this regards, the paper presents a literature review addressing the issue
of increased competition currently confronted by the organization.
Android have become popular among smartphone users. This paper discuss about the intend to solve
the problems of propagating News and information, and also alleviate the problem of traditional event
managing procedures such as lots of paperwork, or long Queue at the registration desk. The objective of
this project is to develop an android application which will provide an interesting news and events so
that users will be able to manage their event smoothly. The objective of this project is to develop an

event management system such as an Event management application. Organizing an event is not an
easy task, especially if the target audience is of a substantial size and if there are many teams involved
during the execution phase. For this reason, automating the processes found in the event planning life
cycle is a godsend to organizers who are still using old school methods. An online management system
practically automates the organizing process and leaves lesser room for human error. This app is design
which could effectively manage the event in an organization. This application contains the database
which has the details of the participants, their name, and the events they are willing to participate, their
registration ID, and event details like day, venue, time, etc. Instead of using paperwork, participant can
simply use this mobile application to register. Events Management System is very helpful for events.

Research design
A Research design is purely and simply the framework of a plan for a study that guides the collection and
analysis of data. The study is intended to find the customer preference towards various event avenues. The
study design is descriptive in nature.
Descriptive Research is a fact-finding investigation with adequate interpretation. It is the simplest type of
research and is more specific. Mainly designed to gather descriptive information and provides information
for formulating more sophisticated studies
Sampling design:

Snowball Sampling Method of sampling is used to collect the data from the respondents. The Respondents are
advised to further circulate the questionnaire to more audiences to reach a greater number of respondents.
Data collection:
Primary data – Collected through Structured Questionnaire cum Interview method.
Secondary data – Earlier records from journals,internet,customers and event organizers.
