Deploying a Virtual Machine using a VirtualBox

1.Download the ISO image of any OS, for eg: windows 8.1 64 bit

2. Open VirtualBox

3. Select “new”
4. Specify the name of OS as Windows8.1 then click “next”

5. Modify the memory size then click “next”


6. Select “create a virtual hard disk now” then click “create”
7.Select “VDI” then click “next”

8. Choose “dynamically allocated” then click “next”


9. Select the file location and size then click “create”

10. Right click on window 8.1 select “start”

11. Choose the ISO image then enter the product key “334NH-RXG76-64THK-C7CKG-
D3VPT” and accept the license then click “install now”, finally choose installation as “custom”

12. installation will take few minutes and you can see the installation status as follows:
13. Finally you can see the virtual machine(windows 8.1) running in VirtualBox as follows:

14. To power off the virtual machine , right click running virtual machine then choose “close”
and then select “Power Off” as show below :
