1. Safety Summary

l Do not pour water into the remote control switch (hereafter called “controller”).
This product is equipped with electrical parts. If poured, it will cause a serious electrical shock.
l Do not operate switches by wet hand. It may cause an electrical shock.
l In case that the protective devices often function or the operation switches do not function well,
turn OFF the main power supply and contact your distributor or dealer of HITACHI.
l In case that other abnormalities are found, stop the system, turn OFF the main power supply and
contact your distributor or dealer of HITACHI.

l Do not perform installation work and electrical wiring connection by yourself. Contact your
distributor or dealer of HITACHI and ask them for installation work and electrical wiring by service
person.
l Do not modify the electrical wiring. It may cause serious accident.

l Do not install the indoor unit, outdoor unit, controller and cable at such places as;
(1) where there is oil vapor and the oil is dispersed
(2) where the hot springs are near (in a sulfuric environment)
(3) where generation, flowing, staying or leaking of flammable gas is detected
(4) where the sea is near (in the salty environment)
(5) an acid or alkaline environment
l Do not install the indoor unit, outdoor unit, controller and cable within approximately
3 meters from strong electromagnetic wave radiators such as medical equipment.
In case that the controller is installed in a place where there is electromagnetic wave radiation,
shield the controller and cables by covering with the steel box and running the cable through the
metal conduit tube.
l In case that there is electric noise at the power source for the indoor unit, provide a noise filter.

3. Operation Method
(Cooling, Heating, Dry and Fan Operations)

<Function> Step 1
* Coolng Operaton: Press the “MODE” swtch.
To decrease the room temperature. By repeatedly pressng the “MODE” swtch, the
ndcaton s changed n order of COOL, HEAT,
* Heatng Operaton:
DRY and FAN (In case of Coolng Only model,
To ncrease the room temperature.
COOL, DRY and FAN).
* Dry Operaton:
To decrease the humdty n the room.
* Fan Operaton:
To crculate the ar n the room.

ATTENTION
The recommendable set temperature s as Indication when Setting COOL Mode
follows;
* Coolng Operaton: 27 to 29oC
* Heatng Operaton: 18 to 20oC Step 2
* Dry Operaton: 23 to 25oC Press the “RUN/STOP” swtch.
The RUN ndcator (Red) s turned ON.
The system s automatcally started.

<Before Operation>

Supply the electrical power to the system


for approximately 12 hours before start-up
after long shutdown. Do not start the system
immediately after the power supply, it may NOTE
cause a compressor failure, because the

4. Setting Method
(Temperature, Fan Speed and Swing Louver Direction)

Setting of Fan Speed


ATTENTION Press the “FAN SPEED” swtch.
Do not touch the “CHECK” swtch.
• The “CHECK” swtch s used only when
servcng.
• In case that the “CHECK” swtch s pressed by
mstake and the operaton mode s changed to
the check mode. Press the “CHECK” swtch
agan for approxmately 3 seconds, and press Indication when Setting MED Speed
the “CHECK” swtch once agan after 10
seconds, and the operaton mode s changed By repeatedly pressng the “FAN SPEED” swtch,
to the normal condton. the ndcaton s changed n order of HIGH, MED
and LOW.
For standard operaton, set the fan speed at HIGH.
Setting of Temperature
Adjust the temperature by pressng “TEMP” or

5. Timer Operation
Ths functon s used to start or stop operaton after
a set tme.
NOTE
When ON/OFF Tmer s set, the pror set tme s

Set the requred tme by pressng the “TIME” or

Indication when Setting 8.5 hours


for Timer Operation

• The set tme s ncreased by 0.5 hours wth


pressng the swtch (Max. 72.0 hours) and
decreased by 0.5 hours wth pressng the
swtch (Mn. 0.5 hours).

tme s automatcally ndcated at 8.0 hours.

10. Operation Procedure for Elevating Grille

11. Other Indications
11.1 Indcatons When n Normal Condton

Power Failure
• All the ndcatons are OFF.
• Once the unt s stopped by the power falure,

• In case of nstantaneous power falure wthn
2 seconds, the unt wll be started agan
automatcally.

Electric Noise
There could be a case that all the ndcatons are
OFF and the unt s stopped. Ths s occurred by
the actvaton of the mcro computer for the unt
protecton from the electrc nose.
