1 Software Introduction

Operation Environment
Hardware Requirment： CPU is above of Intel Pentium4 1GHZ ,the poposed
memory of remaining is more than 512MB,showing resolution is above
of 1024*768 。
Operation System: Apply to Windows series operation system platform.,including
Windows2000,XP,Vista.
This software is delicated to the genaral used controlling system of inkjet
printing machine
The wizard style designer of human computer interation interface is easy to use.
The system supports RIP format which is popular in the market,such as
Wasach,PhotoPrint,Maintop,at the same time support the TIF format of
Onxy.The support of RIP in the system supplies drive interface which can add
new RIP types flexible at any time.
Support multi-pirnting fomat of DPI,which Y-direction can be any precision to
DPI,the printing precision of X-direction is decided by the raster,for example,we
use 180-line raster,then the X directon support the printing of
(180*4)/n(n=1,2,3C) to DPI.
Support file printing,including files bigger than 4G of NTFS files , smaller than 4G
files of FAT32 file system,and the printing of big picture cut into many files.
Support network printing,including two ways: printing while ripping and save as
file,and support data recovery after disconnection, continued print and so on.
With the funciton of material measuring auromatically, the accuracy of measure
is within 0.1mm,the image printing on the material can set the lenth of white area
and the length of the left,center or right abode of alignment.
Smart X direction and Y direction skip white printing,which can recognize the
blank area and skip.
Support muti-images printing and regional printing,which is convient to bulk
printing of small image and sampling print of big image.
Support recover printing,which is used to the printing task customer stopped or
exit printing task due the error during the prining.
In the software,there are many methods of printhead protection under standby
mode.
Support the automatic and manual
Printhead cleaning during the printing,flash during the printing space,set the
color bar in both side of the image to make the printheads are under the best
state all the printing time.
Support mirror printing,which is used in double sides printing.
PASS border feather function,which can compensate the ink quantity between
each pass.

 Support image footnote printing,which is useful in the proceeding manganment .
Support three optional printing speed,bi-directions or two single direction
printing,which can be changed while printing.
The gap between the images can be controlled precisly to achieve the maximum
utilization of materials.
advanced printing queue management,which can print priority and unmanned
RIP files pre-view function,which can directly pre-view RIPPED documents under
the file contents,and to be able to filter and sort the viewing RIP files.Can be set
only shows that the file which had not printed .
Automatical ink supply function,ink supply state show function and alarm function
of long-time low ink level.
Automically limited speed, to relatively high DPI files of Xdirection,it can choose
the appropriate speed to print, to prevent the printheads beyond of frequency.
The dynamical yield and printing time can be showed which is conveint for
customer to control the printing proceed.
There is material paramenters management,which can preser the features of
different parameters,under the codition of change material,only need to choose
the appropriate material name.
The control function of printhead voltage,it can adjust the printhead voltage
automatically according to the printhead temperature and ink characteristics
curve.
Support the use of dongle,and bundled with the hardware system,the system can
be staged,time-limited and restrictions on the use of that, and the use of software
interface language can be restricted to facilitate the inkjet pritner manufacturers
control the products aftermarket.

2 Operation

2.1 Software Installation

2.1.1 Application Installation

Run the Setup.exe file under the installation directory,finish the application installation
according to the guide of system.Pls choose the corresponding configuration with your
printer.As shown below:

2.1.2 Driver Installation

The first time you connect the printer ,the system will give tips:found new hardware.If the
application software have installed in the computer, the driver of the printer will install
automatically,otherwise manually installation is needed. Driver software is in the driver
subdirectories of installed directory, designated the file location of driver manually.

 After finishing driver installation,there is USB printer controller in the device
manager.if not or there is ? or ! behind USB Printer Controller,that says the driver installer
is unnormally,conrtrol system can’t be use at this time.

2.1.3 USB dongle driver Installation

The machine which is needed to be controlled by USB dongle have to install dongle
driver.Run the “USB-KEY-Driver.exe” file in the installation directory,the driver will be
installed automatically.It will shows SafeNet Sentinel-ST in the device manager after
installation.Once the main board was encrypted,we must insert USB dongle before the
software runs.

2.2 Interface Introduction

The main operation interface of control software is as follows:the system devided the
operation into four:Print Option,Task Select,Operation and Maintenance.For the daily
printing,only the task select and print option are needed,in order to make less
operations.Then the software is easy to use for the ordinary users.

2．2．3 Main Menu Content

Maintainance If you want to change some

password setting in the software, you
must enter the password. The
default one is “000000”
Reset origin Can reset the origin position of
the printer
Parameter Can load and back up
parameter here.
Clear task index to delete all the printing task
calibration Print the calibration ,to check
the printer status.

2.3 software start

When the software start,the system is running initialization and checking the connections
and communications between each parts.The initialization step and test result will be
shown on the software interface.

If there is error in the above test,the results of test will be failed on the interface.At this
time the system is out of work.We should restart the software after solving the
corresponding problems,till all the results show success,the system can finsh correct
initialization,then machine can work well.

2.4 Parameters Setting

Click the “print option”button on the left to open this page.

Material Distance to Zero assign the distance between the left media edge
information and the home position
Material Width Assign the material width
Remain Length The remain length of the current material (only
available to the printer with coding mask)
Margin The margin of the material
Material type Rapid specified material type,and load the
corresponding calibration parameter.
Colorbar Colorbar width Set the colorbar width
option Dis to image Set the distance between colorbar and image
Dis between colors Set the distance between each color in colorbar.
If 0, the color will overlap
Colorbar position Set the colorbar position: left side ,right side or
both side of the image
Print colorbar Choose if print colorbar while printing
Footnote Font Choose the font of footnote
option Font size set the width of footnote font
Distance to image Set the distance between footnote and image
Task ID Choose if contain the task ID in the footnote
Task name Choose if contain the task name in the footnote

 Printhead Idle flash freq set the head flash frequence when the heads are
protection idle. It can prevent the heads being block
Auto clean freq To set the clean frequence while printing
Clean move length To set the move length while cleaning
Clean counts To set while suck the carriage move counts
High flash time The high flash time while cleaning
Purge ink time The purge ink time while cleaning
Protect function to choose the clean action: suck , purge and high
select flash

Clean before Clean the heads before printing

Clean in printing Auto clean in fixed time interval while printing
Net print Auto process net if this option was checked , the software will
print request process the net printing requirement . if not ,
when the software received the requirement ,it
pop a window,and you need to confirm then it
printing.
By rip resolution Printing the net work as its ripped resolution
Fixed pass mode Print the net work in fixed pass mode
Net data save as When receive a net printing request ,save the
buffer file data as buffer file in the computer and then print
Function Skip white to choose if detect the x-axis and y-axis blank,
and skip these blank while printing.
Acual distance in if you choose this option , the distance between
images two images will be controlled accurately. If the
distance set to be too short, the media will move
backwards everytime you print an image.
Border feather If you choose this option , it can eliminate the
pass line when the step size is not perfect.
Purge on power on After initializing , the software purge ink auto.
Enable ink volumn While choose this option , when the ink level is
warning low for a while, the system will alarm.
Mirror print if choose this option ,the image will print in mirror
print
Image length cotroll To control the image length (only available to the
printer with coding mask)
Others Disance between To set the vlue of the parameter” Acual distance

2.5Task Select

Click the “task select”button to open the page

2.5.1 Add Tasks Operations

a) Choose the folder which the RIP files are in from the view contents.All the
recognized files under this folder will be showed in RIP files pre-view.
b) There are methods for choosing corresponding files from RIP files preview add to
print list as belows:
Choose the file need to print in the RIP pre-view area with the left button of
mouse, while choose more with selecting the CTRL key or use the mouse
circle. Click the right key of mouse to pop-up menu,choose print or add to the
print list.Adding task can be achieved,such as the choice of print menu
items,the system will start to print immediately.
Double-click RIP files in the RIP files preview area,pop-up pirnt setting
confirm box,click print then can add to the print queen,and start to print
immediately.
click RIP files and drag RIP to print list .the software set up printing as
confirmation after the task will be added to the print list.

In the print list,right click the right mouse button to pop-up menu,select”from
the file open”.File browser will pop up,choose from RIP document added to
the print list.

2.5.2 Task Attribute Edit

When you add print task ,the system will pop task attribute setting box.Users are
allowed to set print PASS, settting up the regional print and multi-pictures pirnt and
add the footnote print content.

RIP Picture Informaiton

Display the size, distinguish rate and RIP format.W is the width of picture,H is
the height of picture. X is DPI precision of carriage moving direction.Y is DPI
precision of feeding moving direction.C is the color quantity of picture.
Print Mode
The default setting is for PASS quantity of finishing the completion of the
entire volume of ink printing.Users can change the setting to get the purpose
of the image qulity.
Region
The function is used to the select part to print,can be used to pirnt
sample,test results of the output of large image.Methods of operation is to
use the mouse circle on the need to print part in the pre-view image,or output
the print range in the regional setting.
Multi-Copy
This function is used to the bulk of small output,the X and Y to carry out a
number of copies to the output.And regional print can be used
simultaneously.

Print appoint words at the end of the image,and for the logo application in the
production of inkjet printing

 Note: X-direction prints with a higher DPI,the current high-speed or
medium-speed carriage movement will lead the printhead working over the
limited frequency,then the system will automatically forbid the high
speed,force to print with the highest speed of corresponding printhead
requirements.

2.6 Operation

Click “Operation” button in the big guide buttons on the left to open the operation
interface.This interface is used for print control and display of print task information and
schedule finishing state.
Operation is composed by functions as belows,
Status Print the nozzle check
Speed You can change the speed while printing
Direction Can change the printing direction
Print state information
Task info Display the size and resolution of the image
Real Output Show the current printing output
Remain Time The remain time of the printing
Progress Show the printing progress

2.7 Maintainance

Click the “maintainance”button on the left to open the page,which is composed by

calibration,motion,prindhead voltage and system information t.

2.7.1 Calibration

To achive the best printing quality,we need to adjust the contents the following: vertical
calibration ,printhead status ,step size,printhead color offset and bi-direction.

2 7 1 1 Vertical calibration

The sofrware will print the above image to check the vertical position of the heads. If the
two group line overlap well in 0 position ,that means the vertical position is ok, if not we
need to adjust the heads angle to correct.there are two condition as below:

When overlap in the negative number when overlap in the positive number

 2 ．7．1．2 Printhead Status
Click the printhead state item,the machine printed the nozzle check. This image
can test the work state of every printhead’s nozzle and the result of the physical
position between printheads.

The box of the left side is used for calibrating multigroup printheads’ position ,
subject to the overlap of the two boxes.

2 7 1 3 step size
Step size is different in different printing mode. So we need to adjust the step size
in each mode. Click the step size icon and choose the pass number to print.

Find the value of the group which overlap perfectly. Take -1 as example , click the
corresponding pass number , there will be a box jumped out , input -1 to the

 measure value and the conversion result will calculate automaticly. And the click
apply. Print again until you got the 0 position overlap perfectly.

2 ．7．1．4 color offset

For this calibration , we need to adjust each speed and also two direction---from
left to right and from right to left.

While adjusting , read the value of each head in the printed image. The Right
Cyan of the Group 1 is the basic color.

To find the value which two color overlap best and add the value to the original
one in the box. Print again, until the 0 position overlap best.

2 ．7．1．5 Bi-direction calibration

When the printer print in bi-direction , the image will have a little difference in

 two direction . click the bi-dir offset ,choose the speed and the machine will print
a image.

the method of reading value is the same as the color offset calibration. Find the value which
overlap perfectly in X-asix

For example ,the high speed we find the value 4 is the best ,then we add it to 38, so the
result will be 42.
If there is not any overlap perfectly , you can choose the two which overlap best and
estimate the value . then reprint and check again.

2.7.4 System Information

This page shows some important related information of system and support
information of RIP format,and disposal related operation of system authorized.System
information is used to maintenance of hardwares and softwares,which is the basis of
upgrade in the future.The contents as follows:
System uses authorized information: When machine supplier bundled USB and

dongle,the dongle must be inserted ,and one set of control boards can only match one
dongle,can’t be mix. cards will be out of work,which is needed to back to the supplier.
