1.0 HYDRANT SYSTEM

1.1 Supply, installation, testing & commissioning of internal fire hydrant comprising of
gunmetal fire hydrant valve 100mm inlet with double headed with double outlet with
control and fitted with 100mm dia instantaneous female coupling on the outlet
complete with orifice flange as required, blank cap with chain and IS : 884-1969 with
upto date amendments finished with post office red spray paint and complete with
following as required : locations as per drawings (inlet flanges to I.S 5290-1977 class
C) as per employers requirement -(6.38.1 and 6.38.2) meeting the intents of
specifications.

1.1.1 Each Internal hydrants/landing valves generally as specified as per (ER-6.38.2) and the
Fire Hose Cabinet as per (ER-6.42) complete with specification:

i) Double headed fire hydrant with fire hose cabinet and necessary accessories

ii) First aid box and swinging hose reels of 36.5Mtr.

iii) Hose shall conform to I.S 636 Type II and coupling to I.S 903-1985 with ISI
certification 63 dia controlled percolation canvas hoses 2 x 15m long hoses with 16
couplings and M.S rack with ball type shut off valve and Nozzle of Gunmetal.

iv) Fire Hose cabinet size as per specifications. (Size 2100 x 1200 x 600mm) (HxBxD)

iv) Fireman axe

1.1.2 Each Supply, installation, testing & commissioning of External fire hydrant comprising of
gunmetal fire hydrant valve 100mm inlet with double headed with double outlet with
control and fitted with 100mm dia instantaneous female coupling on the outlet
complete with orifice flange as required, blank cap with chain and IS : 884-1969 with
upto date amendments finished with post office red spray paint and complete with
following as required : locations as per drawings (inlet flanges to I.S 5290-1977 class

i) Mildsteel cabinet with glass vision panels & support structure. (Size 1000 x 600 x 4
450mm)
ii) iii) Hose shall conform to I.S 636 Type II and coupling to I.S 903-1985 with ISI
certification 63 dia controlled percolation canvas hoses 2 x 15m long hoses with
couplings.
iii) 1# branch pipe & nozzle as per specifications with necessary isolation
arrangement.

1.1.3 Each Excavation upto hard murram as per general profiles and back filling.

1.1.4 Each Supply, installation, testing & commissioning of 0.6 M x 0.6 M x 1.2 M (internal size)
valve chamber of 230 mm th. Wall on 100 mm th. PCC base with internal plastering.
Manhole shall have a 116 kg CI Cover with stone and inline with as per (ER-6.33) 1
specification

1.1.5 CU.M Supply & provision of inertia blocks for supporting the underground piping laid at
regular intervals inline with specifications. Refer attached Typical Detail drawing. 6

2.0 SPRINKLER SYSTEM

2.1 Supply,erection, testing and commissioning of hydraulically operated sprinkler alarm

unit connected to sprinkler system (150 mm dia) comprising of alarm valve, water
motor with alarm gong, pressure gauge, drain cock, check valve and pressure
reducing valve. The quoted rate shall also including the necessary accessories, the
location of the unit shall be as per the detailed drawing with as per specifications of
(ER-6.45.3):

i) Mains stop butterfly valve

ii) Alarm Control valve with retard chamber

iii) Pressure gauges

iv) Test connection with ball valve

v) Water motor, gong, ball valve, strainer etc.

vi) All inter connected galvanised heavy class steel piping connection etc complete

2.2 Supply,erection, testing and commissioning of 15mm dia nominal bore quartzoid bulb
type sprinklers with temperature rating of conventional type the shall also include
suspending arrangement with ceiling, wall arrangement with ceiling, wall beam
clamps, fasteners ceiling rosette (incase of false ceiling) etc., complete. as
specified(ER-6.45.1) and (ER- 4.1.2) complete with specification. (Refer typical
drawing)

3.0 PIPING FOR FIRE FIGHTING

3.1 External Piping

3.1.1 Supply, erection, jointing, testing & commissioning MS (M) Pipe IS:1239 & 3589
marked including all forged fittings and accessories such as welded flanges, tees,
reducers etc. complete including painting, welding, jointing and neoprene gaskets,
nuts, bolts etc. as required of the following pipes painted with one coat of primer 400
micron & two coats of post office red enamel paint fixed in below ground supports
and fasteners all as per drawing including block supports etc. and making good the
same complete as required (for Sprinkler & hydrant System). inline as per (ER-6.29.3)
specifications.

i) All pipes and fittings together with flanges, neoprene gaskets, nuts & bolts as per
specifications.

ii) Suitably lagged with 2 layers of 400 micron polythene sheet over 2 coats of
bitumen including intertia at intervals as indicated in specifications.

iii) Complete the work upto satisfaction of engineer/client representative's requirement

3.2 Internal Piping

specials such as tees, bends, flanges redcuers including Supports etc.,
complete.Rate quoted shall also include for painting of pipe with one coat of primer &
two coats of synthetic enamel paint of approved colour & make. inline as per (ER-
6.29.3) specifications complete with: (Above Ground)

i) All pipes and fittings together with flanges, neoprene gaskets, nuts & bolts as per
specifications. ii)
MS wrapping 2 coats of paints including intertia at intervals as indicated in
specifications.
