I, Arpita Saxena, have strong personal and social ties to my home country, Nepal. I come from a
close-knit family with whom I share deep emotional and cultural bonds. My parents and siblings
reside in Nepal, and I have responsibilities toward them as the eldest daughter. These strong
family connections give me a sense of belonging and a clear intention to return after completing
my studies.
Economically, my family is stable and supportive of my academic goals. They are funding my
education abroad and have made necessary financial preparations to support my study and
living expenses in Australia. I have no financial dependency on Australia and have clear plans to
return to Nepal and contribute to the growing demand for qualified early childhood educators.
Politically, Nepal remains a peaceful country, and there are no conflicts or conditions pushing
me to migrate. My primary motivation for studying in Australia is to gain internationally
recognized qualifications and practical experience, which I intend to bring back to Nepal to
support my long-term career in early childhood education.
2.If you are currently in Australia on a temporary visa, provide complete history of your visit,
including any studies or employment you may have undertaken. Also provide a reason why
you now want to apply for a student visa?
I am currently residing in Nepal and have never been to Australia on any type of visa. This will
be my first time applying for an Australian visa.
The reason I am now applying for a student visa is to pursue the Bachelor of Early Childhood
Education and Care (Birth-5) at TAFE NSW. I am highly motivated to study in Australia because of
its strong reputation for quality education, especially in the field of early childhood education.
The course structure, practical training opportunities, and industry recognition in Australia will
provide me with the professional skills and qualifications needed to build a successful career in
Nepal as an early childhood educator.
3.Is this course available in your home country Nepal? Explain why you would like to study in
Australia and not in your home country or in any other country. Please include any
independent research you may have taken to come to this decision.
While early childhood education programs are available in Nepal, they are limited in terms of
practical training, international exposure, and alignment with global best practices. Most of the
courses offered in Nepal are either diploma-level or lack the hands-on, workplace-based
learning that is essential for building a strong foundation in early childhood education and care.
Through my independent research, I explored several study destinations, including the UK and
Canada. However, Australia stood out due to its strong reputation for high-quality education,
especially in early childhood development, its multicultural society, and its clear academic
pathways. The Bachelor of Early Childhood Education and Care (Birth–5) at TAFE NSW offers an
ideal blend of theory and practical experience through workplace placements, which is
something I found lacking in similar programs in Nepal.
Additionally, Australia’s National Quality Framework (NQF) for early childhood education
demonstrates the country’s commitment to excellence in this sector, which gives me confidence
that I will receive a world-class education. I also reviewed the official websites of TAFE NSW,
CRICOS, and the Department of Education, and connected with current and former
international students through forums and social media to validate my decision.
Studying in Australia will not only enhance my academic knowledge and professional skills but
will also give me the opportunity to gain international exposure, which I can later bring back to
Nepal to uplift the standard of early childhood education in my community.
4.Explain why you have chosen to study at TAFE NSW and not with any other provider. Please
include any independent research you may have taken to come to this decision. Also, include
research on the location of your preferred campus and living arrangements.
After extensive research, I have chosen to study at TAFE NSW for the Bachelor of Early
Childhood Education and Care (Birth–5) due to its strong emphasis on practical, hands-on
learning and its excellent reputation in the field of early childhood education. TAFE NSW's
approach aligns perfectly with my career goals of becoming a skilled early childhood educator.
I explored various institutions in Australia and other countries, comparing course structures,
faculty expertise, and student support services. TAFE NSW stood out for its commitment to
applied learning, offering over 800 hours of mandatory work placement. This real-world
experience is crucial for developing the skills necessary to excel in early childhood education.
5.Explain the value of the TAFE NSW course to your career and how it relates to your previous
education and employment (if applicable). Please include your career plan.
The Bachelor of Early Childhood Education and Care (Birth–5) at TAFE NSW is highly valuable to
my long-term career goals. This course will provide me with the theoretical knowledge and
practical skills necessary to become a qualified early childhood educator and eventually take on
leadership roles in the education sector in Nepal.
I have completed my higher secondary education in Nepal with a strong interest in child
development and education. Although I have not held formal employment in this field, I have
actively participated in volunteer activities related to teaching and child care in my local
community. These experiences have deepened my interest in early childhood education and
made me realize the importance of a well-structured, practical, and internationally recognized
qualification in this field.
TAFE NSW offers a comprehensive curriculum that combines classroom learning with over 800
hours of professional work placements. This hands-on experience is exactly what I need to
bridge the gap between theory and practice and develop the confidence and competence to
manage and educate young children effectively.
My career plan is to complete this degree and return to Nepal, where there is a growing
demand for skilled early childhood educators due to the increasing focus on foundational
learning. I plan to work in established schools or early learning centers to gain experience, and
in the long term, I aspire to open my own early childhood learning center in Nepal that applies
international best practices learned in Australia.
This course at TAFE NSW is a crucial step in my professional journey and will empower me to
make a meaningful contribution to the future of early childhood education in my country.
6.Discuss future employment opportunities in your home country and expected income. How
does the expected income justify the cost of studying this course in Australia?
In Nepal, there is a growing emphasis on early childhood education, especially in urban and
semi-urban areas where parents are increasingly aware of the importance of early learning in a
child's development. As a result, the demand for qualified early childhood educators has risen
significantly, particularly in private schools, Montessori centers, and international-standard early
learning institutions.
After completing the Bachelor of Early Childhood Education and Care (Birth–5) from TAFE NSW,
I will be well-qualified for positions such as early childhood teacher, preschool coordinator, or
curriculum designer in reputable institutions. Based on current trends in Nepal, professionals in
this field can expect to earn between NPR 40,000 to NPR 80,000 per month in entry-level roles,
with potential to grow to NPR 100,000+ per month as they gain experience or move into
management and administrative roles.
Since completing my last formal studies, I have remained actively engaged in preparing for my
higher education journey in Australia. I have spent this time researching suitable courses and
institutions, improving my English language proficiency, and gathering the necessary academic
and financial documents for my student visa application.
I have also taken the opportunity to strengthen my academic skills through online courses
related to child development and early education, which will help me transition smoothly into
the bachelor’s program at TAFE NSW.
This period has been a valuable preparation phase for my future studies and has kept me
focused and committed to my academic and career goals.
