Call for Research Proposals
Council of Science & Technology, U.P. financially supports research schemes
in various fields of basic & applied sciences and engineering & technology for the
advancement of Science & Technology in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Council invites
R&D proposals from Scientists/faculty members working in Universities/Colleges/
Engineering Colleges/ R&D institutions/ Medical Colleges and other scientific
institutions situated in Uttar Pradesh as per need of the State. R&D proposals will be
received online on our web-portal www.cst.up.gov.in and last date for submission of
proposals is 15 January, 2025.
Thrust Areas :

1. Agriculture and Allied Disease resistant varieties of major crops of
Sectors UP, Genetically modified foods and their
safety evaluation, organic farming,
horticulture, veterinary, fisheries,
sericulture, pulse production, IPM, seed
technology and other related fields.
2. Biotechnology Bioinformatics, Bio-Engineering, Vaccine
& New Drug Development, Stem Cell,
Biotechnology in the field of Agriculture,
Environment, Forest, Animal & Livestock,
Aquaculture & Fisheries and Nano-
Biotechnology etc.
3. Chemical Sciences Inorganic, Organic, Physical,
Combinational, Industrial, Synthetic and
Bio Chemistry etc.
4. Environmental Sciences Safe Drinking Water and Sanitation,
Pollution abatement, Phytoremediation,
Natural Resource Management, Green
Energy, Waste Management and Effluent
Treatment etc.
5. Engineering, Construction & All branch of engineering and technology,
Technology nonconventional energy, mechatronics,
alternatives of single use plastic, green
technology, 3D printing, robotics and
automation etc.
6. Information Technology Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning,
IoT, 5G/6G Technologies, Cyber Security,
Block Chain and Metaverse etc.
7. Medical Sciences Life style diseases, occupational & other
diseases prevalent in the state,
AYUSH/indigenous and traditional health
practices, diagnostic tools, genomics,
proteomics and micronutrient deficiency
etc.
8. Pharmaceutical Sciences Drug discovery and development, active
pharmaceutical ingredients, medicinal
chemistry, bio-molecules and nano-
biomedicine etc.
9. Physical Sciences Physics, Astronomy, Mathematics,
Statistics, Nanotechnology & Sensors etc.
Use of AI/ML/IoT shall be encouraged in all above fields.

Scope of support:
 Support is provided for research personnel, consumables, contingencies, travel,
minor equipment and for fabrication of prototype.
 Support/grant is not provided for major equipment and office equipment.
 Investigators need to submit only one proposal at a time.
 Proposal must be specific with end objective, deliverables and time target.
 Projects are sanctioned generally for the period of 2-3 years.
 The sample of the budget details of the projects sanctioned in the financial year
2024-25 can be seen in the instructions for submission of R&D proposals on
our web-portal.

 Proposal is to be submitted online through our web-portal: www.cst.up.gov.in
