SUMMER HOLIDAY HOMEWORK


SESSION: 2025-26
CLASS- VIII
ENGLISH
 Choose any character from any novel/story and draw them OR paste a picture.
 Write a paragraph describing their looks, habits, and nature.
OR
 Maintain a reflective journey through Diary Writing.
Please carefully follow the specifications below to complete your project:
 Duration: 30 days of diary entries (one entry per day).
 Each diary entry should be a personal reflection, thought, or experience of the day.
 Minimum 80-100 words per entry.
 Create a cover page with your name, class, and title (“My 30 Days Diary”).

Project Requirements for both the topics:


 Use A4-sized colored sheets for your entries.
 Write only on one side of each sheet.
 Both projects must be assembled neatly in a file or folder.
 Decorate each sheet creatively with pictures, stickers, borders, drawings, etc. (You can use printed
or hand-drawn pictures.)
 Maintain neatness and a visually appealing layout
 You may also include a short quote, a drawing, or a poem if it relates to your day.
 Use simple, clear, and expressive language.
 Pay attention to grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
Tips:
• Be honest and authentic — write what you truly feel.
• Spend 5-10 minutes daily to keep it natural and consistent.
• Make your diary colorful and lively — let your creativity shine!

HISTORY AND CIVICS


1. You visited any monument during summer vacation in Agra or any other city. Write your experiences
related to your visit-:
 Where did you visit? What did you observe?
 What is the historical significance of the monument?
 When was it built?
 How these Heritage sites are useful to our economy?
 Name some other Indian Heritage site in your city.
OR
Research a few key inventions, like the printing press, the steam engine, or the telegraph, and explore
how they changed various aspects of life.
2. Explore the structure, functions, and significance of the Indian Parliament.
Note:
 Limit of the project, not more than 2 to 3 pages.
 Work has to be done in fair Note book.
 Can use old magazines for pictures.
 Neatness will be weighed.

BIOLOGY
Note: Use A4 sheets and assemble them in a project file.

Q2. Elaborate some harmful effects of drugs.
Q3. Define the following-:
a. Menstruation
b. Puberty
c. First aid
Q4. Draw a diagram of different kind of endocrine glands in human with the help of diagram.

Q1. Which function can be used for the following purpose:
a. Returns a square root.
b. Returns the average of the range values.
c. Returns the smallest value from the given range.
d. Returns the total of a range of cell.
e. Display the current date.
Q2. Write shortcut keys for the following:
a. Redo
b. Copy
c. Print
d. Cut
e. Undo
Q3. Write formula in MS-Excel for the following:
a. To find the smallest number in the range B2 to B6.
b. To find average of the numbers in the range E5 to E11.
c. To find the square root of a number stored in the cell A5.
d. To find sum of the numbers in the range C5 to C11.
e. To find the largest number in the range A1 to A5.

PHYSICS
Note: Do the holiday homework in Physics notebook.
Q1. Define the following:
a. Diffusion
b. Density
Q2 Write the postulates of kinetic theory of matter.
Q3 What is a pycnometer? How is it used to determine density of a liquid?
Q4 Find the mass of 250 mL of benzene. The density of benzene is 0.8765g/mL.
Q5 What is the weight of the ethanol that exactly fills a 200 mL container? The density of ethanol is 0.789g/mL.
MATHS
Instructions: Do Q.2 to Q.5 in a milky file.
1. Prepare a working model on any one of the following topics:

Area of Cylinder, Total Surface Area and Volume of Cube, Cuboid and Cylinder)
2. Write and learn Tables from 2 to 20.
3. Write and learn Squares from 1 to 30.
4. Write and learn Cubes from 1 to 20.
5. Write and learn divisibility rules from 2 to 11 with three examples of each.
