PLG Guidelines
The Peer Leadership Group is the study group, that students work in for their courses and
assignments. For the Leadership Lab course, the group is titled as your PLG. The Peer Leadership
Group is your peer group that learns with you, supports you and helps you to reflect on important
questions, thereby co-creating shared learning spaces.
Your role
Your role is to view the other members as leaders in their own right, bringing diverse values and
strengths to the discussion, hence it is important to treat your peer leaders with respect, trust and
humility. Your role also is to share your insights and readings. Leaders lead best when they serve,
hence work towards responsibly enhancing the group learning by sharing, probing, questioning and
discovering.
The PLG will meet post every Lab session for at least an hour (on the same day or following day) to
discuss insights and questions as above. Every major theme and concept discussed in class will be
carried forward for deeper reflection with the PLG. However, the PLG can choose the direction of the
discussion or reflection and will collectively generate their leadership perspective as also how they
can support each other in achieving each others’ leadership development goals.
Pls create a recurring common time slot for the PLG and keep aside at least an hour for such
meetings. A record of the meetings needs to be maintained for the five weeks of our course. Faculty
may request to be invited to the PLG meetings at any time. Faculty will also be inviting PLGs
randomly to share the process / content of group reflection at the beginning of every Lab session.
At the end of every meeting, collate the group learnings in a PLG Learning Diary with the below
structure to capture group learnings. The Faculty may request for the Learning Diary at any time.
