Project 1

Xyz private limited company (plc) is a service giving organization which is


intended to deliver hotel service to customers.currently, xyz plc is planning to be
client of awash bank.in order to purchase hotel equipment’s for hotel use which
needs to have a total of birr 14,000,000 after four years, starting from the
beginning of this year the company has planned to deposit birr 1,500,000 per
year with an annual simple interest rate of 5.5% for four years. The remaining
amount of fund required to purchase hotel equipment is to be obtained from
bank loan at annual simple interest rate of 8.5% and the loan is to be repaid
after 3 years at one time interest.
Assume you are an employee of awash bank, which operate in Ethiopia, at the
position of loan officer you are well trained staff in banking industry . as well
you are a responsible person at your bank, to handle such cases. Based on the
given information perform the following tasks.
Task1. Compute the accumulated interest gained by xyz private limited company
at the end of year 4?
Task2. Calculate the total amount of deposit made by xyz company at the end of
year 4 including the accumulated interest?
Task3. Compute the loan required to purchase the hotel equipment at the end of
year 4?
Task4. Calculate the total repayment amount to serve this debt?
Task5. Describe the different roles of national bank of Ethiopia and awash
bank?

A company have the following employees :

company abc is registered business in Ethiopia which involves on import and export businesses. The
company has made the following transaction during the month of November 2021.

On November 10 purchased coffee at birr 3,500,000 inclusive vat from this purchase the company
sold to: 1)star bag company based in uk for the amount of birr 4,250,000 which costs 2,500,000
2) the remaining of purchased cost of birr 1,000,000 sold at local markets for the amount of
1,200,000 without vat.

Task 1: calculate indirect tax and jouranalize

Mr.zeleke gets a monthly net salary of birr 8500 from ministry of revenue zeleke’s monthly
expenditures as percentage of his monthly income are as follows:

Instruction : under this projet the candidate is expected to perform the tasks based on the
information provided

Task1: calculate the total net salary of zeleke for one year, assuming that after 6 months there will
be a 5% increase in net salary

Task2: calculate the total expenditure of zeleke for one year, assuming that after 6 months there wiil
be a 5% increase in net salary

Task 3: compute the amount of zelekes saving at the end of the year, assuming that after 6 months
there will be a 5% increase in net salary.

Task 4: describe three purpose of zeleke’s saving?
