1.0 MODULE DESCRIPTION

This module provides students with an introduction to the logical foundations upon which
much of modern computer science rests. It also introduces students to the practical
applications of the theoretical principles of discrete mathematics. Finally, it addresses
understanding, doing proofs and generally expanding mathematical maturity.

1.5 Methods of proof – direct, indirect, contradiction and mathematical induction
