The Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical

University (SZABMU) has been designated as
the 'Admitting University' by the Federal
Government to conduct the Medical and
Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) -
2024. This booklet serves as your
comprehensive guide to preparing for the
test and embarking on a rewarding career in
medicine or dentistry.

Importance of MDCAT

The MDCAT exam has been an integral part of

the medical and dental colleges' admission
process for the past 25 years. All medical and
dental institutions in Pakistan require
applicants to submit recent MDCAT scores
for admission.

Purpose of the Booklet

This booklet outlines the official policies and

procedures for taking the MDCAT exam. It
provides essential information about test-
day policies, post-test-day procedures, and
the rules in place to ensure the integrity of
the exam. By reading this guide, you'll be well-
prepared for a hassle-free testing
experience.

What is MDCAT?

The Medical & Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT) is a mandatory,

standardized test for MBBS and BDS admissions in all medical and dental
institutions, as per PM&DC Act, 2022, Section 17(2).
TEST DATE: SUNDAY, 22ND SEPTEMBER, 2024
• Test duration: 3.5 hours (210 minutes)
• Reporting Time: 08:00 hrs PST.
• Exam Time ; 10:00 AM Till 01:30 PM (PST)
• Format: Pen and paper-based in English.
• Administered by: Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University (SZABMU)
• Responsible for: Test production, marking, and province-wide test center network
• Format, weightage, and curriculum: As notified by PM&DC

Download Instructions
1. Visit University website https://admission.szabmu.edu.pk/
2. Enter your complete CNIC/Passport/B-Form without dash (-).
3. Download and print Admit Card on white, plain, A4 size paper.
Important Notes
- Admit Card is issued provisionally, subject to eligibility fulfillment.
- Candidates must appear at designated center, date, and time.
- No changes are allowed to Admit Card content.
- Verify particulars and photo; report discrepancies to University.
- Admit Card does not guarantee eligibility acceptance.

Regulations
Before the Test
- Verify the test center address
- Arrive at the center 2 hours before the test

- Bring:
- Original CNIC/NICOP/JC/Passport/(for 18
years age& above)
- Original B-Form/FRC issued by
NADRA/Juvenile card(JV)(less than 18 years
age)
- Original SSC/Matriculation
transcripts/certificates with photographs
- Admit Card printout

- Transparent clipboard
- 2 blue & black ballpoint pens (Pointter/Gell
Pen/Ink Pen /Marker not allowed)

During the Test

- Search and check by Supervisory Staff
- Invigilator will verify Admittance Card and sign
documents
- Occupy allotted seat; no changes allowed
- No leaving the test center until the test is over
- No using toilet facilities for the first hour

invigilator before leaving

Before Attempting the Test

- Read instructions on the Response Form and
Question Paper carefully
- Check the Question Paper for any missing or
damaged pages
- Report any issues to the invigilator immediately

- Each question carries 1 mark
- No negative marking
- More than one answer indicated

At the End of the Test

- Return the upper, colored sheet of the
Response Form and the Question Paper to
the invigilator
- Take the lower, carbonized sheet with

Answer Key and Self-Scoring
- The University will display the Answer Keys on its website on the same day
after the test
- Calculate your score using the carbonized copy of the Response Form and
the Answer Key
Rules regarding Complaints and Re-Checking
- Send an email to mdcat2024@szabmu.edu.pk by 6:00 p.m. on the test day
for any queries or complaints
- Submit an online application for re-checking within 03 days after the
display of the official result
-Fill in the feedback form.
Result
- Download your MDCAT result from the SZABMU website after declaration
Weeding out Rules
- The record of MDCAT-2024 will be preserved for 12 months from the date of
declaration of result

- Be sincere, honest, and responsible in your activities pertaining to
appearance in MDCAT
- Do not adopt any unfair or fraudulent means in the examination
