Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Level three

Chapter One
The Bucket Family.
This was a story of a boy called Charlie Bucket. There were six people in his Family. But none of
them were Charles Brother’s or sister. They were Charlie’s mother and father. the other four
were Charlie’s grandparents. They were so old that they stayed in bed all day and never got
up. But they didn’t have much room because they slept in the same bed. Grandpa Jo and
Grandma Josephine at one end and Grandpa George and Grandpa Georgina at the other.

Chapter Two

Charlie’s House

Charlie’s family lived in a very small house. It wasn’t easy for them. They were so poor. His
mother tried hard to make nice meals. But it was always cabbage, or bread, or potatoes, or
more cabbage. Charlie dreamed of eating something else. Mosto f all, he dreamed of
CHOCOLATE!

Chapter three

The Chocolate Factory

In Charlie’s town, near his house, there was a chocolate factory. It was the biggest and most
famous chocolate factory in the world. All day long, he could smell that most delicious
chocolate smell. If I had just one wish, I would go inside that factory. Charlie thought.

Chapter Four

The First Golden Ticket

One day, Grandpa Jo was reading the newspaper. There were five golden tickets in each bar of
Wonka chocolate. If they found one they could visit the factory. Augustus found the first ticket.
He was a greedy boy. Nobody liked him.

Chapter Five

The Second Golden Ticket

Veruca was the next lucky child. Her parents bought her thousands of Wonka bars. Veruca
couldn’t wait to open them. She kicked her legs and shouted, “Where´s my Golden
Ticket?”Then someone found it for her. She was happy.

Chapter Six

Charlie’s Birthday

Three tickets left! Charlie hoped he would be lucky. Every year on his birthday, his family gave
him a delicious bar of Wonka chocolate. Perhaps he would have a Golden Ticket inside this
year. He would be very happy.

Chapter Seven
The Third Golden Ticket

Poor Charlie! But the third ticket was for Violet. She loved chewing gum. She always had one in
her mouth. She laughed if someone found a piece of gum in her clothes. Grandma Georgina
thought she was a horrible child.

Chapter Eight

The Fourth Golden Ticket

After Charlie’s birthday, Grandma Josephine was reading the newspaper. Mike, a horrible boy
has found a Golden ticket. He was crazy about televisión. He watched it all the time. If anyone
tried to talk to him, he would shout: “Go away! I am watching televisión!”

Chapter Nine

Charlie Finds Some Money.

A few days later, Charlie was walking home f, rom school. It was a very cold day. Suddenly, he
saw in the snow. It was some money. To Charlie that meant only one thing. . .FOOD. Charlie
thought to give it to his mum, But first, perhaps he would...

Chapter Ten

A Bar of Chocolate, Please!

The kind of food Charlie thought was chocolate. Quickly he was in the shop buying a bar of
Wonka chocolate. He quickly pulled off the paper. What a delicious smell! Then Charlie saw
something yellow under the chocolate. He couldn’t believe his eyes.

Chapter Eleven

The Fifth Golden Ticket

A few minutes later Charlie got home shouting that he had a golden ticket! Grandpa Jo was so
happy that he jumped high in the air and his soup went al lover grandma Josephine!

Chapter Twelve

The Big Day

The day arrived. Hundreds of people were standing outside the factory. They were waiting to
see the children going inside for the day. The policeman organized the people. Veruca came
first wearing expensive clothes. Then Mike arrived dressed like a famous person in a TV film.
Then Augustus and Violet arrived. All the children were with their parents. But Charlie was last
in the line, with his Grandpa Jo.

Chapter Thirteen

Meet Mr Willy Wonka

At ten o’clock, Mr Wonka appeared, he was a funny little man with his pointed beard. He
greeted the children with their parents.

Chapter Fourteen

Happy Workers
The factory was an amazing place. There were beautiful fieds, trees, flowers and a brown river.
Veluca saw near the waterfall, The Oompa-Loompas. They were people famous for working,
dancing and singing.

Chapter Fifteen

Augustus Falls in the River

While the Oompa-Loompas sang, Augustus walked down to the river and he fell down into it.
Mr. Wonka shouted but it was late. Then suddenly Augustus was gone.

Chapter Sixteen

Down the Chocolate River

Augustus’ mother shouted, she would never see him again but Mr Wonka said she would see
but not soon. He was a bad boy. Then they sailed down the chocolate river on an amazzing
pink sugar boat!

Chapter Seventeen

The Magic Room

The Oompa-Loompas rowed the boat down a long tunnel They stopped opposite a door in the
wall. That was the most important room in the factory, said Mr Wonka. They went inside and
found magic sweets of every kind, like green Gobstooppers that never went any smaller in
their mouth.

Chapter Eighteen

The Great Gum Machine

In the middle of the room was a great big metal machine. It moved up and down, making a
very loud noise, Clonk, clatter, bang! Violet realized that it was chewing gum. The most
amazing gum; said Wonka.

Chapter Nineteen

Goodbye, Violet

It was a magic gum. Violet put the gum in her mouth and she turned purple and round like a
blueberry. Her mother shouted. Oompa-Loompas took her away and got the juice out.

Chapter Twenty

The Nut Room

The next stop was the Nut Room where hundreds of Little animals were opening nuts. Veruca
wanted an animal. She was trying to catch one. But the animals caught her and pushed her
down with the rubbish. Then Veruca´s mother went down, too. And her father?...

Chapter Twenty-One

The Great Glass Lift


There were only five more visitors left in the factory. They were all feeling tired. Mike wanted
to watch TV and Mr Wonka agreed and they all went into the lift. The machine was as fast as a
rocket and it was crazy. It could go up and down and round corners.

Chapter Twenty-Two

The Television Chocolate Room

The visitors stepped out of the lift into a brilliant white room then they put on dark glasses. It
was where they tested their Television Chocolate, said Mr Wonka. Mike wanted to know that
but Mr Wonka could send him with a camera to another place. It went by television.

Chapter Twenty-Three

Mike, is That You?

Six Oompa-Loompas put a big piece of chocolate under the camera Suddenly it was a TV. Milke
went under the camera. He was so small. His mum cried. Mr Wonka said that the Oompa-
Loompa would make him big again.

Chapter Twenty-Four

Where Next?

Then Wonka turned to Charlie and said, my dear boy, you were the only boy left, Well done he
said. They stepped into the lift. Charlie was very surprised. He asked where they were going!

Chapter Twenty-Five

The Other Children Go Home

The lift blew up into the sky. The people below looked very small. The other children appeared,
Agustus at the front and Mike at the back and they were going home with sweets. But for
Charlie Mr Wonka had something else, special. The lift was just above Charlie’s house.

Chapter Twenty-Six

A Big Surprise

Mr Wonka said that Charlie had won the factory. It was his now. Charlie couldn’t think. The lift
was falling. But It was just the beginning. All The family was going to live in Charlie’s Chocolate
Factory and Grandpa Jo said that they wouldn’t be hungry again!
