7 Domains
1. Content Knowledge and Pedagogy, it is what to teach and how to teach your content.
• Mastery of Content Knowledge
As a teacher you cannot share anything to your students if you do not master what you have to teach
them and their is a need as well to master content knowledge so that you know how to explain that to
students, you know what particular strategies should be implemented and you know very well how to
contextualised that content to the kind of students you have.
• Critically understand the application of theories and principles of teaching and learning.
So its not enough that you know the principles the theories of teaching and learning, the most important
thing here is that you know how to apply this theories into practice or in real life. Just like for example the
theory of John Dewey, so should know how to apply the experiential learning in teaching strategies.
• Display proficiency in Mother tongue, Filipino and English
As a teacher or future teachers, we are not only proficient in Filipino, English but we should be proficient
also in Mother Tongue because in basic education there is this so called MTBMLE of mother tongue
based multilingual education where they practice using mother tongue specially in kindergarten to grade
3. So, you should be proficient not only on Filipino, English but also Mothers tongue.
• Positive use of ICT
Now a days, we still have blended learning, or using online platforms for teaching and learning,
synchronous and asynchronous way of teaching and learning. We use ICT for teaching such as making
PPT and strategies for teaching and also for evaluation.
• Use strategies to promote HOTS
Now if you’re already in teaching and learning, you will encounter different strategies of HOTS. As a
teacher we can promote HOTS in a form of questions such as using How and Why. We can use debate
in activities and can have an argumentative discussion to develop their HOTS.

2. Learning Environment
You have to ensure that the learning environment is really condusive to learning and the environment contributes
to the students learning and development, and a learning environment also must be condusive.
• Learner safety and Security
As a teacher you should consider the safety and security of the students because if they don’t feel safe
in that learning environment they will be distracted on the discussion and won’t have a condusive
environment.
• Support for the Learners participation
As a teacher you should support your students and not discourage their participation. So that they feel
comfortable in sharing their ideas and experiences in the discussion.
• Management of classroom structure and activities
The structure of the classroom should be condusive for learning. Also think of a strategies or activities
where the students will feel they’re welcomed and comfortable in sharing their ideas and manage their
behaviours.

3. Diversity of Learners
The learner in a certain classroom is really diverse, other come from different cultures, different society, different
status, traditions and also they have different intellectual capacity and so they are diverse. And a quality teachers
should make sure that he knows how to create unity and diversity, he should know how to make students feel
welcome and accepted in a certain classroom.

4. Curriculum and Planning

• Translate curriculum content into learning activities
As a teacher you must know how to understand curriculum guide, the teacher’s guide, teacher’s manual
and should also know how to come up with the lesson planning.
• Identify learning Outcomes
It is very important that the teachers understand the curriculum because it will be a guide for learning
competencies of a particular grade level that is mandated by DepEd or CHED.

5. Assessment and Reporting

As a teacher you must use assessment tools to evaluate your learners whether they have understood or not the
content that you have given to them. Assessment and reporting will help you document the needs of the learners
as well as the progress they have in your own subject areas. And as a teacher you have to make sure that if you
use assessment tools on your students when you asses their learning then you have to provide with timely,
accurate and constructive feedback.

6. Community linkages
• Establish school – community partnership
You have to establish very good school-community partnership because you are part of the community,
so you have to work well with the people in your community.
• Respond to opportunities that link teaching-learning to the experiences of the community
There are times that the students ask to visit different places in the locality or visit the marketplace in
some cases because it is where they could get an experience an authentic experience that related to
your subject matter.
• Promote professional and harmonious with the wider community
You should not only harmonious to the people in the school, not just your students not just your co-
teachers and the parents of your students but in everyone within the community.

7. Personal Growth and Professional

• Professional development goal
As a teacher you should not stop from studying from learning because a teacher is always a student and
for a teacher to give new to the students, he/she must be always updated.
• Maintain qualities that uphold the dignity of teaching
As a teacher you must maintain your dignity so means that you have to be dignified, you have to act well,
just well and talk well, and you do not do immoral things that would tarnish the image of teaching
profession.
• Exhibit high personal regard for the teaching profession
So as a teacher you have to be proud that you are a teacher, you have to be proud that you are part of
