NCERT COMMON ENTRANCE EXAMINATION (CEE)-2025

PROSPECTUS
National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) is the advisory body of Ministry of
Education, Govt. of India in the matters of School and Teacher Education. It caters to the educational
needs of the states and UTs of the country in the areas of research, development, training and extension
activities in school education. It comprises of nine constituents including six Regional Institutes of
Education (RIEs) located at different parts of the country. These RIEs are set up in different regions of
the country namely eastern region (at Bhubaneswar), northern region (at Ajmer), north east region (at
Shillong), southern region (at Mysuru and Nellore) and western region (at Bhopal). The RIEs are
model teacher education institutes. These institutes have endeavored to shoulder the responsibilities and
challenges generated by changes in the educational scenario of the country.
Candidates can apply to appear in the Common Entrance Examination (CEE)- 2025 through
Computer Based Test (CBT) for admission to the following programmes offered by the Regional
Institutes of Education located at Ajmer, Bhubaneswar, Bhopal, Mysuru, Shillong and Nellore;

Integrated B.A.B.Ed. (4 Year)

The four-year integrated programme integrates general studies in social sciences, humanities (content
courses at par with those of undergraduate liberal programmes in arts), and professional studies
comprising foundations of education, pedagogy of school subjects, technology in education and
practicum related to tasks and functions of a school teacher. It maintains balance between theory and
practice, coherence and integration among the components of the programme, representing a wide
knowledge base of a secondary school teacher. The programme aims at preparing teachers for upper
primary and secondary stages of education. The students may opt one Language and two Social
Science subjects as optional to enable them to become TGT (Social Science) and TGT (Language).
Through CEE-2025 candidates will get opportunity to get admission in B.A. B.Ed. in any of the RIEs
at Bhubaneswar and Mysuru.

Integrated B.Sc.B.Ed. (4 Year )

The four-year integrated programme integrates general studies in science (content courses at par with
those of undergraduate liberal programmes in science), and professional studies comprising
foundations of education, pedagogy of school subjects, technology in education and practicum related
to tasks and functions of a school teacher. It maintains balance between theory and practice, and
coherence and integration among the components of the programme, representing a wide knowledge
base of a secondary school teacher. The programme aims at preparing science and mathematics
teachers for upper primary and secondary stages of education. The four-year integrated course is
designed in view of the latest researches and experiments in the field of education. Besides, having
latest knowledge in content areas, the teacher trainees become well versed in pedagogy, technology
and communication skills which are integrated throughout the duration of the course. Through CEE-
2025 candidates will get opportunity to get admission in B.Sc.B.Ed., in any one of the RIEs at
Bhubaneswar and Mysuru.

Integrated M.Sc.Ed. (6 Year)

This is an integrated programme of Teacher Education leading to the post- graduate degree (M.Sc.Ed.)
in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry with an aim to prepare senior secondary school teachers of
Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics without any option of intermediate exit before completing six
years of study. The programme is of six-year duration organized on the semester pattern. Each
semester consists 16 weeks of instruction excluding examination. The course contents related to
Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are equivalent to course content in Physics, Chemistry and
Mathematics included in the syllabus for the same subjects in B.Sc. (PCM) and M.Sc. ( Physics,
Chemistry and Mathematics) of University of Mysuru. The course content related to educational
components in M.Sc.Ed., is equivalent to that of B.Ed. of University of Mysuru. This degree is
equivalent to M.Sc. and B.Ed. degrees of University of Mysuru. The students who pass this programme
are considered eligible to pursue Ph.D. degree in their respective areas in compliance with Ph.D.
regulations of University of Mysuru. This programme currently offered only in RIE, Mysuru. Through
CEE-2025 candidates from all over the country will have an opportunity to get admission to this
programme in RIE, Mysuru.

Integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed. ( 3 Year)

The B.Ed.-M.Ed.(Integrated) programme is a three-year full time professional programme in

education, without any option of intermediate exit before completing three years of study. It aims at
preparing teacher educators and other professionals in education including Curriculum Developers,
Educational Policy Analysts, Educational Planners and Administrators, School Principals, Supervisors,
and Researchers in the field of education. The completion of the programme shall lead to integrated
B.Ed.-M.Ed. degree with specialization in either elementary education or secondary and senior
secondary education. This programme is currently offered only in RIE, Bhopal. Through CEE-2025
candidates from all over the country will have an opportunity to get admission to this programme in
RIE, Bhopal.

Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) (2 Year)

The two-year Bachelor of Education programme, generally known as B.Ed., is designed based on the
recommendations of the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). This is a professional
programme that prepares teachers for upper primary or middle level (classes VI-VIII), secondary level
(classes IX-X) and senior secondary level (classes XI-XII) for applicants with post-graduation. The
curriculum is designed to integrate the study of Subject Knowledge, Human Development,
Pedagogical Knowledge, Technological and Communication Skills. This programme specifically
provides quality teachers for secondary schools in Science, Mathematics, Language and Social
Sciences. The candidates admitted to this programme can opt either for Science and Mathematics or
Social Science and Languages. This entitles them to become efficient teachers of Science/Mathematics
or Social Science/Language. The programme is designed in such a way that the students will be well
versed in content, pedagogy and technology. Through CEE-2025 candidates will get opportunity to get
admission in B.Ed. in any one of the RIEs at Ajmer, Bhubaneswar, Bhopal, Mysuru and North East
Regional Institute of Education (NERIE) Shillong.

The Master of Education (M.Ed.) is a two-year professional programme in the field of teacher
education which aims at preparing teacher educators and other professionals in education such as
Curriculum Developers, Educational Policy Analysts, Educational Planners and Administrators,
School Principals, Supervisors, and Researchers in the field of education. The completion of the
programme shall lead to M.Ed. degree with specialization in either elementary education or secondary
education. Through CEE-2025 candidates will get opportunity to get admission in M.Ed. in any one of

The M.A. (Education Technology) is a two year programme intended to prepare the professionals to
work in Ed-Tech industries as instructional designers, learning and development professional,
educational consultants and educational technology specialist etc. The goal of the programme will be
to prepare academicians to continue work in the area of Education Technology, teach Educational
Technology courses in Higher Education Institutes, carry out research in Education Technology, and
to conduct capacity building programmes in this domain. Through CEE-2025 candidates will get
opportunity to get admission in M.A. (Education Technology) offered by RIE, Nellore.

ELIGIBILITY FOR DIFFERENT PROGRAMMES

Integrated B.A.B.Ed. (4 year)

• Candidates must have passed +2/ Hr. Secondary/ Sr. Secondary or equivalent examination in
Science and Commerce streams or in Arts streams with at least 50% marks in aggregate
(relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ ST/ PwD candidates) in 2023, 2024 and appearing/appeared
in 2025 only will be considered.

Integrated B.Sc.B.Ed. (4 year)

• Candidates seeking admission to Physical Science Group must have passed with Physics,
Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) (M stands for Mathematics or Statistics) and those
seeking admission to Biological Science Group (CBZ) must have passed Physics,
Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) (B stands for Biology or Biotechnology) at +2 level.
• Candidates must have passed +2 / Hr. Sec./ Sr. Sec. or any equivalent examination
recognized by University/ Board with at least 50% marks in overall aggregate of qualifying
examination (relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ ST/ PwD candidates). The qualifying
examination should be recognized by the affiliating universities of the RIEs.
• Candidates who have passed +2/Hr. Sec./Sr. Sec. or any equivalent examination in 2023,
2024 and appearing/ appeared in 2025 only will be considered.

Integrated M.Sc.Ed. (6 Year)

• Candidates seeking admission to M.Sc. Ed. (Physics / Chemistry / Mathematics) must have
passed with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) (M stands for Mathematics or
Statistics) at +2 level.
• Candidates must have passed +2 / Hr. Sec./ Sr. Sec. or any equivalent examination recognized
by University/ Board with at least 50% marks in aggregate of qualifying examination
(relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ ST/ PwD candidates). The qualifying examination should be
recognized by the affiliating university of RIE, Mysuru (University of Mysore).
• Candidates who have passed +2 / Hr. Sec./ Sr. Sec. or any equivalent examination in 2023,
2024 and appearing/ appeared in 2025 only will be considered.

B.Ed. (2 Year)
Candidates with at least 50% marks in either in the Bachelor’s Degree and/or in the Master’s degree
in Sciences/Social Sciences/Humanity, Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology with specialization
in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks or in any other qualification equivalent thereto, are
eligible for admission to the programme (relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ ST/ PwD candidates).

M.Ed. (2 Year): Candidates seeking admission to the M.Ed. programme should have obtained at
least 50% marks or an equivalent grade (relaxation by 5% for SC/ ST/ PwD Candidates) in the
following programmes.

(i) B.Ed.
(ii) B.A.B.Ed./B.Sc.B.Ed.
(iii) B.El.Ed.
(iv) D.El.Ed. with an undergraduate degree (With 50% marks in each)

Integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed. (3 Year): A post graduate degree in Science / Social Science / Humanities
from a recognized Institute with a minimum 55 % marks or equivalent grade (relaxation by 5% for
SC/ST/PwD Candidates).

M.A. (Education Technology): Graduation in any discipline with minimum 50% marks or
equivalent grade (relaxation by 5% for SC/ST/PwD Candidates).

 There is no restriction in the passing year to apply in B.Ed., B.Ed.-M.Ed., M.Ed. and M.A.
(Education Technology) programmes.

SIASTE, Haryana is an Autonomous Institute established under Department of Higher

Education, Govt. of Haryana which also admits candidates from Common Entrance Examination.

DOMICILE REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION TO DIFFERENT RIES/NERIE:

Eligibility of State Domicile:

a. The Candidate should select the appropriate State/UT against which he/she is seeking
admission. As a proof of eligibility of State/UT for admission, the candidate has to compulsorily
produce any one of the following documents:
i. Evidence of having passed the qualifying examination from the State/UT as given in the
advertisement and published in the CEE-2025 Website. The web address is to be
provided by EdCIL after development of the online application.
ii. In case of legal guardian / parents is an employee of State/ Central Govt. / Govt. of India
undertaking / Autonomous bodies, the latest certificate of place of posting of the
guardian/parents in the State/UT.
iii. A domicile certificate from the competent authority of the concerned State/UT.

Candidate can produce any one of the document of choices (i), (ii) or (iii).

RIE, Ajmer: B.Ed. and M.Ed.

For all programmes at RIE Ajmer only the students from the states/UTs of Haryana, Himachal
Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi
and Chandigarh are eligible.
RIE, Bhubaneswar: B.A.B.Ed., B.Sc.B.Ed. (PCM and CBZ Group), B.Ed. and M.Ed.

 For B.A.B.Ed., B.Sc.B.Ed. and M.Ed. programme at RIE Bhubaneswar, only the candidates
from the states/UT of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Jharkhand, Manipur, Meghalaya,

 For B.Ed. programme, and M.Ed programme at RIE, Bhopal, only the candidates from the
states/UTs of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa, Daman & Diu, and
Dadra & Nagar Haveli are eligible.
 For B.Ed.-M.Ed. programme, the candidates from all states and UTs are eligible

For B.Ed. programme at NERIE, Shillong, only the candidates from the states of Arunachal Pradesh,
Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura are eligible.

RIE, Nellore: M.A. (Education Technology)

For M.A. (Education Technology) programme, the candidates from all states and UTs are eligible.

SIASTE, Haryana: B.A.B.Ed. and B.Sc.B.Ed.

For B.A.B.Ed. and B.Sc.B.Ed. programmes, the candidates from all states and UTs can apply.

APPLICATION FEES:
The fees for entrance examination are applicable to all the candidates as per given below:
• For General/OBC Category candidates ₹1400/-
• For SC/ST Category candidates ₹800/-
• For Person with Disability (PwD) of any category candidates ₹800/-
• For Economically Weaker Section (EWS) candidates ₹800/-

A candidate can apply for more than one Programme for admission with a single registration
with a single payment as per their eligibility (as specified in the Eligibility Criteria in the CEE

SYLLABUS AND ENTRANCE EXAMINATION PATTERN OF CEE-2025

Syllabus for CEE-2025

1. Language Proficiency indicating specific areas like comprehension, rearranging sentences,

selecting suitable words for the blanks, finding out errors in parts of the sentences, finding out
equivalent meaning to the given phrases, finding out suitable words for the incomplete
sentences, sequencing, grammar which includes synonyms, antonyms, idioms, prepositions,
tenses, articles.
2. Teaching Aptitude will cover specific areas like attitude towards education, children, and
teaching profession; interest in teaching; leadership qualities & group management; emotional
& social adjustment; intrapersonal & interpersonal skills; digital initiatives and pedagogy,
NEP 2020, and school education, NCF-SE-2023 and general awareness of contemporary issues
pertaining to school education.
3. Reasoning Ability indicating specific areas like verbal & non-verbal reasoning, missing
numbers, number series, letter series, theme finding, jumbling, analogy, odd one out, arranging
the statements in a sequential form, statement and conclusions, syllogism, logical problems,
establishing relationships.

Mode of CEE 2025:

The CEE 2025 will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode across the country.

CEE-2025 Patten
1. Separate questions will be for different groups:
o Group-A: B.A.B.Ed./B.Sc.B.Ed./M.Sc.Ed.
o Group-B: B.Ed./B.Ed.-M.Ed./M.A. (Education Technology)
o Group-C: M.Ed.
2. Level of question paper will be as given below:
o Group-A - The level of questions will be such as expected of the candidate
completing higher secondary/senior secondary education.
o Group-B- The level of questions will be such as expected of the candidate
completing graduation.
o Group-C- The level of questions will be such as expected of the candidate
completing graduation and professional education level.
3. For all the groups, areas to be tested and no. of questions will be as follows;
(a) Language Proficiency (20 questions)

4. Medium of Test Booklets will be only in English and Hindi.
5. No. of test items-80, Time Duration-120 minutes.
6. Correct answer(s) will carry 2 marks each, Wrong answer(s) will carry negative
marking of (minus) -0.5 marks each and Question(s) unattended will carry no marks.
Methods of Generating Rank :
1. 60% from entrance examination and 40% from our definitions of aggregate scores for
Integrated B.A.B.Ed., Integrated B.Sc.B.Ed., Integrated M.Sc.Ed., B.Ed., M.Ed., Integrated
B.Ed.-M.Ed. and M.A. (Education Technology) programme.

2. Aggregate score will be defined as:

• For Integrated B.Sc.B.Ed. (Physical Science)/Integrated M.Sc.Ed., obtained marks of PCM

and for Integrated B.Sc.B.Ed. (Biological Science) obtained marks of PCB out of
Maximum marks of PCM/PCB in qualifying examination.

• For B.A.B.Ed.: Obtained total marks of qualifying examination out of Maximum marks of
qualifying examination.

• For B.Ed.: Obtained total marks of qualifying degree examination out of the maximum
marks of qualifying degree examination.

• For M.A. (Education Technology): Obtained total marks of qualifying degree examination
out of the maximum marks of qualifying degree examination.

• For Integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed.: Obtained total marks of qualifying postgraduation

examination out of the maximum marks of qualifying post-graduation examination

• For M.Ed.: Obtained total marks of qualifying examination out of the maximum marks of
qualifying examination. If the qualifying examination is
B.Sc.Ed./B.Sc.B.Ed/B.A.Ed./B.A.B.Ed. only the obtained total marks of professional
components out of the maximum marks in these components.

CENTRES OF EXAMINATIONS:
Candidate can select three examination centres from the following cities; Ahmedabad, Ajmer,
Berhampur, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cuttack, Dehradun, Delhi,
Ernakulum, Gangtok, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Jorhat, Kolkata, Leh, Lucknow,
Mumbai, Mysuru, Panaji, Patna, Ranchi, Prayagraj (Allahabad), Raipur, Sambalpur, Shimla,
Silchar, Shillong, Sri Nagar, UMIAM (NERIE), Vijayawada, Port Blair and Kavarati.

However, any centres in later stage can be added or deleted depending on the number of
registered candidates.

Reservation Policy

As per the Government of India rules candidates belonging to certain categories are admitted to seats
reserved for them based on relaxed criteria. The following reservations are available SC 15%, ST
7.5%, OBC 27%, PwD 5%, EWS 10%. Candidates applying under reservation quota will be
considered only on the basis of the lists notified by the Government of India and the category
certificate/ PwD certificate in the format approved by the Govt. of India and issued by the competent
authority. OBC candidates will have to attach a certificate from competent authority stating that he/she
does not belong to Creamy Layer.

 The reservation for EWS will be as per the Government of India norms.
 For reservation of Hyderabad-Karnataka under Karnataka reservation quota, data will be
captured and provided to RIE, Mysuru for processing at their end.
 RIEs will provide one seat for each course B.Sc.B.Ed. and B.A.B.Ed. (RIE, Mysuru will
also provide one seat for each programme of M.Sc.Ed. i.e., Physics, Chemistry and
Mathematics) and RIE, Bhopal will also provide one seat of B.Ed.-M.Ed. over and above of
their regular quota for NTSE awardees and Tibetan candidates. However, candidates
from this category need to appear in the CEE 2025.
