• The total forest and tree cover in India
is 827,357 square kilometers,
representing 25.17% of the country’s
geographical area.

• Area wise top three states having largest
forest cover are Madhya Pradesh (77,073 sq
km) followed by Arunachal Pradesh (65,882 sq
