Evaluate The Information
Evaluate The Information
CRAAP Test: CRAAP stands for Currency, Relevance, Authority, Accuracy, and Purpose.
The CRAAP Test is a helpful tool to use when trying to decide if a source is a valid source or not.
The CRAP Test looks at four major areas: currency, reliability, authority, and purpose. When
determining whether a website is credible or not, evaluate it on those four areas.
Here are a few suggestions to help you think through your evaluation process:
Currency - the timeliness of the information
• Check when the information was the information was published or posted
• Check the copyright or the posting date
• Check whether the information is updated or revised.
• Check if the information is current or outdated for your topic.
