II B.Tech. (CHE/LT/BS-MS), 2024-25
CONM- NMA204, Assignment-3

1. Using Milne’s method, solve = 1 + y2 with y(0) =0, y(0.2) = 0.2027, y(0.4) =
0.4228, y(0.6) = 0.6841, obtain y(0.8) and y(1)

2. Given that: = ; with the initial condition that y=1 when x = 0. Find y for x= 0.2
and x= 0.5 using Modified Euler’s method.

3. Solve the equation with initial condition y (0) =1 by Runge- Kutta fourth
order method from x = 0 to x = 0.4 with h = 0.
4. Using Adams- Bash forth method, obtain the solution of at x = 0.8, given
the values
x 0 0.2 0.4 0.6
y 0 0.0200 0.0795 0.1762
5. Apply Euler’s method to solve choosing the step length = 0.2.
6. Using Picard’s method, solve 1, upto third approximation.
7. Using Taylor’s series method, compute y(0.2) to three places of decimal from
given that y(0) = 0.
