Essential Qualifications Master’s degree in Molecular Biology/ Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/Life Science/


Botany/Genetics/Plant Breeding/Plant pathology/Plant physiology/Microbiology with
4 years/5 years of Bachelor’s degree. Candidates having 3 years Bachelor’s degree
and 2 years Master’s degree should have NET qualifications and 2 years of Research
experience as mentioned in OM No. Edn/6/27/2014/HRD dtd 13/07/2015, OM No.
Agril Edn. 6-27/2014/HRD dtd 09/10/2015 of the Council and OM No. SR/S-09/Z-
09/2018 of DST dtd 30/01/2019.
As per OM No. Agril Edn. 6-27/2014/HRD dtd 09/10/2015, following candidates are
eligible for application with NET as exemption:
1. PhD Degree holders.
2. Professional Master degree holders (3 years)
3. Master degree holders with Integrated degrees like B.Tech & M.tech (5
years)
4. Any National Level examination conducted by Central Govt Dept./ Agencies,
are considered as NET for the purpose of eligibility of SRF viz. CSIR, CSIR-
UGC, GATE, DBT-Eligibility test/ Test conducted In Bioinformatics National
Consortium, DAE-JEST, & JGEEBILS, NBHM, ICMR-JRF, ICAR, Dop-GPAT

Desirable Qualifications Research experience in plant molecular biology, gene cloning, plant transformation
(rice, wheat, mustard, chickpeas), tissue culture, wet lab work development and
analysis of transgenic plants, Scientific writing, evidenced from publication
fellowship/Associateship/Training

Date of Interview 30/06/2025 at 10:30 A.M.

Terms & Conditions:

1. Interested candidates will attend the Walk-In-Interviews with 2 copies of Application


form along with 2 self – attested copies of all the documents related to educational
qualifications/experience/publications etc. The candidates must also bring all the
Original documents for verification. However, the candidates who wish to take
online interviews must submit their Application form strictly in the prescribed
format along with the scanned pdf of their original documents by dated
24/06/2025. The application form and the documents must be clubbed in a single

Those candidates who fail to bring the documents mentioned above on the date of
Interviews, their candidature is liable to be cancelled.

4. Only candidates having essential qualifications would be considered for the


interviews.
5. Number of post as advertised may increase or decrease depending upon the
requirement of the Institute and various undergoing/running projects having same
essential qualifications.
6. Incomplete applications without requisite documents in any form will be summarily
rejected.
7. All the claims made in application form needs to be attached with substantial
documentary evidence else the claim will not be considered.
8. For claiming experience, necessary experience certificate duly issued by competent
authority has to be enclosed with application for consideration of the same.

9. Age Limit: Upper age limit for application to the post of SRF is mentioned as under
(As per ICAR guidelines) (as on the date of Interview)

Female 40 years

Relaxation in age limit for OBC Non-Creamy layer/SC/ST/PH candidates shall be


admissible as per GoI rules.

10. All the candidates must be present at least 60 minutes before the reporting time of
interview to be acclimatized with the interview protocol.
11. No TA/DA would be given for appearing in the interview.
12. The positions are purely temporary, on a contractual basis. The positions can be
terminated with one months’ notice owing to any change in circumstances. The
person selected will have no right to claim employment or engagement in ICAR at the
end of the contract period.
13. Concealing of facts/canvassing shall lead to disqualification of the candidature.
14. The Competent Authority/Director of the Institute reserves the right to accept or
reject any or all the applications without assigning any reason thereof.
15. The decision of the Competent Authority/Director of the Institute will be final and
binding in all aspects.
16. In case of any disputes, it will be resolved within the jurisdiction of New Delhi Court
only.
