The primary objective was to develop a comprehensive Power BI report for a Cement Company
Model. This report aimed to provide actionable insights into the company’s operations by
focusing on three critical areas:

- Production trends: Analyzing production data to identify patterns, efficiency levels, and
potential bottlenecks.

- Delivery patterns: Evaluating the logistics and delivery process to optimize supply chain
efficiency.

-Sales analysis: Offering a detailed breakdown of sales performance across different regions,
product lines, and customer segments.

This would enable the company to make data-driven decisions, improve operations, and
enhance overall performance.

1.2.2 Scope of Work

1.2.2.1 Visual Dashboard Development

The project involved designing and creating visually engaging dashboards to represent the
company’s key performance indicators (KPIs) effectively. The focus was on:

- Clear and intuitive visualization of production, delivery, and sales data.

- Use of interactive charts, graphs, and tables for better data exploration.

- Ensuring the dashboards provide a seamless user experience.

To enhance the functionality and user experience, the following advanced features were

-Dynamic Row-Level Security (RLS): Ensuring data access is tailored to users based on their
roles and permissions, maintaining data confidentiality and relevance.

The dashboards and reports were designed to address specific business questions critical to
decision-making, such as:

- What are the trends in production efficiency over time?

- Which regions or product lines are contributing the most to sales revenue?

- How can delivery processes be optimized to reduce delays and costs?

The following analyses were conducted as part of the project:

- Examined variations in cement production, categorized by plant and fiscal year.

2. Target Achievement Visualization:

- Displayed targets and the extent to which they were achieved each year.

3. Delivery and Order Trends:

- Analyzed the number of deliveries and orders, categorized by plant and month.

4. Regional Production Summary:

- Summarized production across different regions.

5. Order Delivery Analysis:

- Highlighted total orders delivered by plant and year.

6. Key Metrics Calculations:

- Total quantity sold to date.

- Average daily delivery rates.

- Cement deliveries for the last year and month.

7. Advanced Functionalities:

- Implemented drill-down and drill-through options for deeper insights.

- Created a dynamic row-level security system.

- Developed a parameter table for denomination conversions.

2.5 Skills Learnt

During the internship, the following skills were acquired:

stakeholders to make informed decisions.

Future Work

Given the increasing demand for BI tools, Power BI’s importance in business intelligence is
expected to grow. Future work could include:
