Course Title: Business Process Management

Contact Hours: 3 hours/week (Total: 54 hours)
Pre-requisite: Fundamentals of Information Systems

Course Description:
This course introduces students to Business Process Management (BPM), focusing on
analysis, modeling, improvement, and automation of business processes. It prepares
students to apply BPM tools and techniques in real-world organizational settings, aligning
processes with strategic goals.

Program Outcomes (POs)

Graduates of the BS Information System program should be able to:


1. Apply knowledge of computing, business, and information systems appropriate to the
discipline.
2. Identify, analyze, and solve problems related to information systems.
3. Design and implement business processes supported by information systems.
4. Function effectively as a member or leader of a development team.
5. Understand professional, ethical, legal, security, and social issues and responsibilities.

Course Outcomes (COs)

At the end of the course, students should be able to:


1. Describe key concepts, tools, and methodologies in Business Process Management.
2. Analyze, model, and improve business processes using BPM techniques.
3. Apply BPM tools to design, simulate, and monitor organizational processes.
Desired Learning Outcomes (DLOs)

By the end of the course, students will be able to:


- Define BPM and its relevance to organizations.
- Identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks in existing business processes.
- Model business processes using BPMN or similar notation.
- Evaluate processes using performance metrics and KPIs.
- Use tools to simulate process improvements.
- Communicate process designs and improvements to stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively in process redesign projects.
- Demonstrate understanding of continuous process improvement.
- Apply BPM in the context of digital transformation and IS projects.
