Pinning of the Hood – Parents
This next part of our ceremony is both symbolic and deeply personal.
At this moment, our graduates will receive their academic hoods.
As we will witness the Pinning of the Academic Hood, let us reflect on the
significance of its parts, which speak of both tradition and meaning.
🔶 The Hood’s Color – The color of the hood signifies their field of study
🔶 The Lining of the Hood – The inner lining represents the institution that the
graduate has completed their studies in. For our graduates, it bears the colors of
International Grace Bible Institute (IGBI), symbolizing their spiritual home and
the mission they carry forth from this place of learning.
🔶 The Placement of the Hood – The act of placing the hood upon the graduate’s
shoulders, performed by their parents or designated escorts, is a powerful symbol. It
represents not only the graduate’s academic achievements but also a tribute to the
faith, love, prayers, and sacrifices of their family. It also signifies the readiness of
the graduate to step forward into the ministry with God’s anointing and the support
of their loved ones and the wider church family.
As the graduates and parents come forward, let us take this moment to reflect on
the countless unseen sacrifices made in the name of love and calling.
Let us start with

vocational training.
Following this, we will also present certificates to the members of the Student

No celebration is complete without honoring those who have supported, prayed for,
and stood by our graduates through every challenge—our dear parents. Their

At this point in our program, let us now listen to a beautiful tribute prepared
especially for them by Bible Woman Abegail Surdilla,

As we celebrate this milestone, let us remember that while we have been busy
growing up, our dear parents have been quietly growing older. Their sacrifices often

timeless.
May we always honor and cherish them, not only today but every day, recognizing
the priceless role they play in our lives.
