Non-Compliance Guidelines
Note: We don’t condone ‘free riding’ in group projects. If you have a non- or under-
performing team member, it is important to take action as soon as possible. From
a University perspective, fair, appropriate and timely procedures must be in place
for students who encounter difficulty working with their team.
3. Dropped
● If the non-compliant team member does not honour the previous requirement,
the rest of the group sends an email to the instructor (copying all group
members) stating that they are proceeding without the member and their name
will not appear on the project. This must be done on a timely basis (i.e., giving
the team member the opportunity to drop the course without academic penalty).
● Fair, appropriate and timely procedures must be in place for students who
encounter difficulty working with their team.
