Unit I: Semiconductor Devices

- Structure, operation, and V-I characteristics

- Diffusion and transition capacitance

- Rectifiers – Half Wave and Full Wave (with and without filters: L, C, LC)

- Zener as voltage regulator

Unit II: Amplifiers


- Load line, operating point, BJT and MOSFET biasing methods

- BJT small signal model – CE, CB, CC amplifiers – Gain and frequency response

- MOSFET small signal model – CS, CG, Source follower – Gain and frequency response
- High frequency analysis

Unit III: Multistage Amplifiers and Differential Amplifier


- Cascode and Differential amplifier

- Common mode and differential mode analysis

- MOSFET input stages, tuned amplifiers

- Gain, frequency response, neutralization

Unit IV: Feedback Amplifiers and Oscillators


- Negative feedback – Voltage/Current, Series/Shunt types
