HOW TO UPDATE DORS 820, DORS 800, DORS 750, DORS 200M1 and DORS 230 FIRMWARE

To update your DORS 820, DORS 800, DORS 750, DORS 230 or DORS 200M1 (hereinafter the device),
you will need:
 A computer (hereinafter PC) running under Windows OS (Win7 or higher), connected to Internet.
 USB cable, connecting your device with your PC (supplied in the device delivery set).

BVS Update application (ver.2.2.1.2183 or latter) and the driver have to be installed on your PC.

BVS Update application and the drivers can be downloaded from DORS web-site:
http://dors.com/oe/service/download/

How to install and run BVS Update on your PC:


1. Disable anti-virus software as it may affect the installation.
2. Run downloaded driver for connection of device Drivers_CP210x_VCP_Win_XP_S2K3_Vista_7.exe.
3. Run downloaded installer SetupBVS_Update.exe.
4. When BVS Update is inactive, its window is hidden. Find icon in START menu of your Windows or among
the icons of your taskbar and click it. The icon of activated BVS Update appears in the bottom taskbar:

To close BVS Update right-click the icon in the tray and then click Exit:

How to update your device:


Run BVS Update on your PC. Ensure you have stable power and internet connection. Switch on the

device. Connect the device to your PC with supplied USB cable. Click .
When the application connects with DORS server, you will find a message in Update column:

 “Available” – firmware update is available


 “Not required” – the latest firmware is already installed
 “Not registered” – this device is not registered on the server; inform parts@dors.com to register
 “Not active” – update function is inactive; inform parts@dors.com to activate the device
 “Missing” – the firmware is missing on the server; inform parts@dors.com to add the firmware
 “Verified” – the server is checking device identificator
o If Update column status is “Available”, select the connected device with mouse left button, and click
«Update device firmware» or «Update all». The update process starts, and the progress bar
appears in the Update column. The progress bar will also appear on the screen of the device.

Warning: Do not disconnect USB cable from the device, do not switch off the device, and do not
disconnect the power cord during the update!
o Wait till «Updates download successfully completed!» message appears in the window; the
device may then start self-testing. Then the application requests the update server again and
shows the message «Not required» in the Update column.

o Close BVS Update.


o Wait till self-testing is over and switch off the device.
o Disconnect USB cable.
o Switch on the device again, wait till self-testing is over. The updated device is ready for operation.

If BVS Update displays that the device update is not required, but you still need to update the device, for
instance after repair, then right-click the line with the device and select “Force update”:

For DORS 820: ensure that system time on your computer is correct; right-click the line with the device and
select “Set date and time” to set counter RTC.
