AGREEMENT FOR PROFESSIONAL BUILDING

DESIGN SERVICE

This Agreement (hereinafter, together with the STANDARD CONDITIONS,


the Appendices, and all documents annexed hereto and forming an
integral part hereof, )called "The Agreement".

Made in duplicate the day of July26, 2024

Hereinafter called “The Client" of the one part and whose

MYI consulting Architects and engineers Plc. hereinafter called "The


consultant" of the other part, whose address is: -

WHEREAS the client is desirous of obtaining services for the design of


Fence and technology center in Addis Ababa, at bole Sub City,

NOW THESE PRESENTS WITNESS and it is hereby agreed and declared by


and between the parties hereto as follows:

The Client hereby appoints the consultant and the consultant accepts the
appointment on the conditions as laid down in the standard conditions and
Appendices annexed thereto and made a part here of.

APPENDEX C: Remuneration, payment, and Time Schedule

SCOPE OF SERVICES

The Scope of this service for consulting constitutes of the designs of


Architectural,Structural,SanitarydesignsTopographic survaying,soil
investigation and bill of quantity for the construction of the proposed
structure

APPENDIX B
DESIGN PROGRAM
The design program shall be developed by the consultant in consultation
with the client and basically accommodating all important and mandatory
functions as indicated below.

DESIGN
The design shall cover all architectural and engineering designs of the
project and any other requirements technological or otherwise required for
the safe and efficient operation of the project. Design shall be based on
detailed studies, surveying, wind, temperature and other climatologically
conditions attributable to the project site and environment. It shall take in
to account municipal and client requirements.
The services to be provided depend on the nature and complexity of the
project. The general classifications are:
1. Preliminary Design
2. Final Design

1. PRELIMINARY DESIGN

The envisaged services at preliminary design stage are:


ARCHITECTURAL

At this stage architectural design shall be prepared and discuses with the
client and furnished and dimensioned drawings showing .

 Site plan in scales 1:500 or 1:200 showing the location and size of
project and facilities inside showing major dimensions,
communication with access roads and site parking, drive ways,
pedestrian ways, paved and green areas, water supply, drainage
and power supply lines.

 Floor Plans, Elevations and Sections in scale 1:100


2. FINAL DESIGN

The basis of the final design shall be the preliminary design and
comments received thereon.

ARCHITECTURAL
 Site plans to scale of 1:200
 Floor plans to a scale 1:50
 Sections to a scale of 1:50
 Elevations to a scale 1:50 to 1:100

STRUCTURAL

Tasks to be performed and subsequent deliverables include preparation


of structural designs and drawings based on appropriate engineering
analysis of loads, stresses ,deflections, and strength of materials,
preparation of structural drawings based on appropriate engineering
standards and finally deliver structural drawings and statical calculations

 Foundation plans to a scale of 1:50


 Structural sections to a scale of 1:20 or 1:10
 Bar bending schedules
 Structural calculations

SANITARY

A detailed sanitary design shall be prepared for inclusion for construction


documents. Based on the daily water requirements, water supply and
drainage scheme shall be worked out. local (EBCS_9) and accepted
international standards and cods of practices, and sanitary installation
drawings with hydraulic and other pertinent calculations report shall be
submitted

 Site plan to a scale of 1:200


 Floor plans to a scale of 1:50
 Detail drawings for special in items to a scale of 1:20 or 1:10 or 1:5
or1:1

APPENDIX C:
REMUNERATION, PAYMENT, AND TIME SCHEDULE
1. REMUNERATION TO THE CONSULTANT

Sum of Birr 150,000 [one hundred fifty thousand birr only]

2. MODE OF PAYMENT

The contract price, as referred to in number 1, shall be paid by the


following schedule
2.1. 50% of the fee shall be paid upon signing of the contract.
2.2. The remaining 50% shall be paid up on completion of the service.

3. TIME SCHEDUL

The consultant agrees to work within the following time frame:-


Prepare and submit the whole package of the project, within 30 working
days from the date of the signing of the contract.

STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITY

.The consultant issues “statement of responsibility” for the safety and


reliability, cost efficiency, specification, bill of quantities and material
demand of the design

POST DESIGN SUPPORT

The consultant agrees to assist the client during project implementation


for the following activities at NO COST to the client:
 Correct any unforeseen errors in the design and/or documentations
related to it
