DC Connectors
• There are five or so DC Fast Charging connectors currently being used by

electric car manufacturers all over the world.


• CHAdeMO - Nissan and other Japanese companies like Mitsubishi
(Recently Nissan Leaf was converted to CCS-2)
• SAE Combo Charging System (CCS) - (BM~, GM, VW, and other
carmakers)
• Supercharger - Tesla standard connector
• GB/T - BYD among other Chinese companies use this. Mahindra and
Tata electric cars also use this standard

• Bharat EV Charger DC-001 specifications recommend the China based GB/T


connector standard. Also, Indian electric cars (OnJy Mahindra e2o, e-Verito
and Tata Tigor EV as of now) and electric· buses use the GB/T port on the
vehicles for DC fast charging.

• CHArge de MOve (CHAdeMO) provides DC charging standards for EV that


ensures seamless communication between charging point and vehicle.
• CHAdeMO charging protocol is applicable for 6 kW up to 400 kW. It is
structured to feature safety, compatibility, easy applicability, and uniformity
• Technical specification of CHAdeMO protocol ccavers battery protection,
-safe charging control, electric shock protection, and connecter interlock.
• It is the first global DC fast charging protocol for EV that reduces range
anxiety.
