Argumentative Essay (tiểu luận tranh luận) còn được gọi là Opinion hoặc Agree/Disagree
Essay. Dạng này sẽ đưa ra ý kiến cá nhân về các topic quen thuộc trong xã hội và đưa ra những
dạng câu hỏi như:
• Do you agree or disagree?
• To what extent do you agree or disagree?
• Is this a positive or negative development?
Example: Some people believe that living in the city is beneficial for people’s health. To what
extent do you agree or disagree?
_DISCUSSION ESSAY_
- Dạng bài này đưa ra hai quan điểm và yêu cầu bạn phải phân tích cả hai quan điểm, bao gồm
cả quan điểm cá nhân.
• Lập từng đoạn Body riêng biệt cho từng quan điểm.
• Phần Conclusion là nơi trình bày ý kiến riêng của bản thân mình.
• Có thể nêu quan điểm cá nhân ngay trong phần Introduction.

Các câu hỏi về ưu điểm và nhược điểm có thể được diễn đạt theo nhiều cách khác nhau:

• Do you think the advantages out weigh the disadvantages?
• Discuss the advantages and disadvantages and give your opinion.
Example: These days more and more people in the city live in houses with small spaces or no
gardens. Do the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?

vấn đề nào đó và yêu cầu thí sinh cần trả lời 2 câu hỏi liên quan đến đề bài.
