 Current Isilon Software Releases

General availability
General availability (GA) releases of OneFS are new releases that are available to
install.
A GA release can be installed into any production environment with hardware that
supports this version. For OneFS and node compatibility information, see the Isilon
Supportability and Compatibility Guide.
The OneFS Supported Releases table lists the GA release for each OneFS version that
is currently supported. If you are not able to upgrade to the recommended Target
Code release, you should ensure that you are running the current release for the
OneFS version that is installed in your environment.
See Isilon Product Availability for information about OneFS platform and product
lifecycles.
See Current Isilon OneFS Patches for information about available OneFS patches.

Supported OneFS GA and Target Code releases

The table in this section lists the supported OneFS general availability (GA) releases
and the target code versions of those releases. Target code applies only to OneFS
8.0.0 and earlier releases.
A OneFS release is designated as Target Code after it satisfies specific criteria, which
includes production time in the field, deployments across all supported node
platforms, and other quality metrics. To ensure that your clusters are running the most
stable and reliable version of OneFS, upgrade to the latest Target Code available for
the OneFS family that meets your business needs.

Note

Target Code represents minimum OneFS release recommendations and does not take
into account unique storage workflows. When considering which version of OneFS to
adopt, be sure to review your business needs with your EMC Isilon account
representative. You may also want to install a later version of OneFS to take
advantage of new or improved functionality.

Drive support package

Installing the latest drive support package allows you to update your drive firmware to
the latest supported revisions.
Your cluster must be running OneFS 7.1.1 or later and must include nodes that have
bootflash drives. For more information, see the release notes.
