Don Marquis Abortion Essay
Abortion is a moral issue that is very controversial. Abortion is a deliberate termination of a
pregnancy and has been performed for thousands of years. Majority of the debate of morality on
abortion is whether the fetus is a person or not. And if a fetus is a person, is it morally okay to kill
a person? What is it is in self defense, is it then okay to kill a person? These are a few of the many
questions that come to mind when abortioncomes to topic. Judith Jarvis Thompson and Don Marquis
have enlighten, yet opposing arguments. Judith Thompson believes abortion is morally acceptable
while Don Marquis believes abortion is murder. They both have very strong and convincing
arguments, but who would Thomas Aquinas agree with? I am going... Show more content on

Don believes that you don t have to believe in god to believe abortion is wrong. Don Marquis
argues that it is immoral and is considered murder. I do not believe Aquinas would agree with
Don, even though Aquinas believes in God. Aquinas speaks about how God created the rational
soul around 40 days for males and 80 days for females. He relates to early fetuses like plants and
not human. This then would be well after conception that they would be believed to have a soul,
allowing for much time to abort a pregnancy. Therefore, Aquinas would not have viewed early
abortion as murder and been pro choice. However, later abortions would have been viewed as murder
for Aquinas. Don understands that considering it immoral to kill human life (fetus, zygote etc.) is a
broad principle that allows for many opposing arguments. This is so because cancer cells are
human life and it is not immoral to kill cancer cells. Aquibas believe human being are able to
reason and think. Don Marquis argues that killing is wrong because the victim had a valuable
future and was robbed of it. Therefore, it is wrong to have an abortion because you are killing its
future, regardless of if it is a person. The fetus would have eventually become a person like
Tesla Motor s Model 3 Vehicle
The launch of Tesla Motor s Model 3 vehicle took place in March of 2016. This newly engineered,
high powered vehicle is projected to be the foundation for Tesla s marketing strategy for the up
coming year. The Model 3 stands as the turning point for the company, vaulting the young
automotive brand into a new market: middle income buyers (Kiley). While the all electric vehicleis
similar to its predecessors, the Model X and the Model S, the Model 3 is significantly less
expensive. The Model 3 is $35,000, while the Model X is priced at about $75,000 and the Model
S at approximately $135,000 ( Car and Driver ). The target consumer sales market of this vehicle
is the entire middle class and millennials. Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, is working to produce a
significant number of vehicles in a limited amount of time, so an affordable, yet energy efficient
vehicle can be available to every strata of the middle class, as well as to environmentally conscious,
forward thinking buyers.
While the Tesla s Model 3 is the most current vehicle that is expected to have a significant effect on
the company s future projected sales, their earlier vehicle, the Model S was successful in its market
as well. Although the Model S is significantly more expensive than the Model 3, Tesla s marketing of
luxury, eco friendly, and innovative technology proved to consumers that their Model S was the
right pick. According to Bloomberg, the Model S became a significant staple for the brand and
became, in
Similarities Between The Bible And The Book Of Exodus
The New Testament fulfills the promises and concerns brought up in the Old Testament through
Jesus Christ. Furthermore, the Old Testament sets up what needs to be done by Jesus in order to
save us from sin and to live in eternal happiness. Since the two parts of the Bible describe similar
topics, their themes and events are similar as well. The Book of Exodus has elements that are
repeated or appear in later New Testament books, such as the Gospel of Luke. Events, themes, and
promises presented in Exodus resurface in the Gospel of Luke with only slight differences,
suggesting typology between the Hebrew and Christian Bibles, specifically between Moses and Jesus
. In addition to similarities between themes and events, stories and promises are somewhat different
between the two.
In both the Book of Exodus and the Gospel of Luke, there is a main character representing a
redeemer and prophet for a large population. These people are Moses and Jesus Christ. Jesus is the
Son of God and the Messiah, sent down to earth to save us from our own sin (Chappell). In Exodus,
Moses is part of the plan to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Moses was reluctant at first, but who wouldn t be when a talking burning bush appeared in front
of you. He asks Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt? and
says that he cannot talk with eloquence (Ranieri, 75). He makes up excuses trying to avoid God
and his plan for him. But he ends up giving in and having faith in God. Peter, one of Jesus s most
devoted and faithful apostles, denied Jesus by responding I do not know what you are talking about
when someone asked him if he was one of Christ s followers (Ranieri, 149). Peter denies his
association to Christ three times until he remembered the prophesy of the crow cawing three times,
and then he had unquestionable faith in
Descriptive Essay On Outer Banks
One of my vivid imageries is going to the outer banks with my friend. Near the end of july I was
invited to come to the outer banks for a week with my friend. The first day we drove and stopped
Charlot. We stayed in a hotel and got diner there. It took a long time for the food to come. After
we were done eating we went to the room where we watched some of the Tour De France. That
night I could not get a piece of chicken out from my teeth so it bothered me all night. I tried to get it
out so many times it started to make my gums bleed. In the night it came out though.

The next day we drove to the outer banks on the drive we rode over huge bridges one had a big
bump in the middle. We took a video of the bridges. When we got there we ate at a cool seafood
restaurant with a beautiful scenery. I had fried shrimp and fries. We watched someone suff with a
kite above them it dragged them across the water. The next thing we did was go to to the house
where all of his relatives were staying. The house was three stories tall and had a elevator! We
wanted a room but we had to sleep on the couch. We decided that we were going to the ocean is
was nearby. I didn t expect the water to be so salty and cold and the waves so strong they sucked
in the sand and pulled it back out again. It was sunny and at first i accidently swallowed a lot of
salt water and the waves knocked me down. The sand was hard and moved back and forth. Because
of the sucking waves. We came back at night cause we got

Example Of A Hero
Everyone has someone they look up to as a hero. It may be parents, grandparents, a friend, or even
a fictional character. There is a lot of things that make a person a hero and it doesn t necessarily
mean someone who wears a cape. A hero is a person who is not afraid to step in and do the right
thing, regardless of the situation. Heroes are usually centered around the idea of having a positive
impact on others. Being a heroisn t always doing something so big and great, but mostly just doing
what s right because it s the right thing to do and because it makes life better for others. A great
example of a hero would be Spiderman because he helps protect people from crime and danger, he
shows that he is very caring, and shows lots of courage. He is an example of what anyone would
describe as a great hero. Spiderman is a great example of a hero because he could be doing
something else, anything really, but he chooses to help fight crime in order to save the city
because he believes with the powers he has, it s his duty to help protect the people from the
danger that is happening around. He could be studying or working, or pretty much just leading a
normal and calm life, using his powers as a little to make things easier. But he as a person decides
to help fight crime and protect the people in his city because he thinks it s the right thing to do.
When really, it s the police who should be doing this kind of stuff. After all, they re specifically
trained and equipped to do so. And still, he believes it s his duty to do this because of his powers.
He isn t getting paid to do this. He could just quit whenever he wants. It isn t a job. No one could
blame him for doing it. But he goes on. He sticks to his duty, no matter what the situation. He
sticks to his morals and what he believes in, even when people try to destroy him. He has nothing
to gain and everything to lose, and yet he still does it. He s a hero because he chose to sacrifice
himself for the better and safety of others. Another example of why Spiderman is considered a
great example of a hero is because he shows that he is a very caring person. When it comes to being
a hero it s not all about solving crimes and saving lives. It s also about helping
The Life and Times of Sir Isaac Newton Essay
Sir Isaac Newton was born on January 4, 1643 (based on the Gregorian calendar) in Woolsthorpe,
Lincolnshire, England. Growing up, he was never really close to his parents because his biological
father died three months before he was born. Then, his mother remarried and left him to be raised
by his grandparents. It was not until 1661, when Newton started studying at Cambridge University,
that Newton took an interest in math and science. Then, in 1665, Newton was forced to go home
because of an epidemic outbreak. During his time away from school, Newton started studying
optics, math, and gravity. In addition, he started to create Calculus. Newton was allowed to return to
Cambridge in 1667, and in 1669, he became a math professor. In... Show more content on

A few scientists who lived just before Newton s life were Nicolaus Copernicus, Galileo Galilei,
Robert Hooke. Copernicus discovered the heliocentric theory. This idea was revolutionary because
before his theory, people believed that the sun revolved around the earth (geocentric theory).
However, Copernicus presented the theory that the earth revolved around the sun (heliocentric
theory). Another scientist, Galileo Galilei, created the first telescope. Thus, with his new
invention, he was able to see the Milky Way, features of the Moon, and Jupiter s moons. While
observing Jupiter s moons, he saw that the moons orbited around Jupiter, not earth. With this new
information, he was able to disprove the geocentric theory because Jupiter s moons did not orbit
around Earth, but rather Jupiter. Galileo also found that everything fell at the same speed. He
tested this theory by dropping two balls (one heavier and one lighter) off of the Leaning Tower of
Pisa. They both hit the ground at the same time ( Astronomy and Space for Kids ). In addition,
Galileo proposed the idea of inertia ( The Scientific Revolution ). Robert Hooke was another notable
scientist of that time. Hooke created the law of elasticity. This law states that, the stretching of a
solid body (e.g., metal, wood) is proportional to the force applied to it (The Editors of Encyclopædia
Britannica). Hooke also invented the Gregorian reflecting telescope. Through this invention
Cultural Assimilation Should Be Viewed As A Positive Or...
By definition, cultural assimilation is the process whereby individuals or groups of differing ethnic
heritage are absorbed into the dominant culture of a society. The process of assimilating involves
taking on the traits of the dominant culture to such a degree that the assimilating group becomes
socially indistinguishable from other members of the society. During this process, ethnic
individualities, characteristics, and traits of the minority population can disappear. Unfortunately,
this is the opposite of multiculturalism, which stresses the significance of promoting different
cultures, ethnicities, and races within a single jurisdiction. While multiculturalism promotes
diversity among society, assimilation can and does morphs us into much of the same mold.
However, assimilation also opens new doors, opportunities, and experiences to those that may never
have experienced them otherwise. Ultimately, assimilation to some degree is seemingly unavoidable,
as those from different countries must learn to adapt to their new surroundings. This leads to the
question of whether cultural assimilationshould be viewed as a positive or negative experience.
Should being American require immigrants as well as international students to feel pressured to
integrate and conform to the culture? Does this process of integrating come naturally, or is it forced
upon them? In short, do we really want immigrants to assimilate? Answering this question on
cultural assimilation is important
