Title: Women in Conservation of Biodiversity in Schools: Empowering Girls in Schools for Biodiversity

Conservation
Purpose – This project focuses on empowering young girls in schools to become advocates and leaders in biodiversity
conservation. By integrated hands-on learning, mentorship and leadership opportunities into school environment. The
program will build awareness of biodiversity issues, inspire active participation and foster sustainable practices within
and beyond the school community. This project is two-fold as it will not only contribute to biodiversity conservation but
also promote gender equity in environmental leadership.

Rationale:

Biodiversity loss is one of the most pressing environmental challenges globally, yet women and girls often lack resources
and opportunities to contribute to solutions. The high school will provide an excellent platform for nurturing
environmental stewardship among young women.

Goals:

1. Increase green cover in urban areas through a school-driven tree planting

2. Build awareness on the importance of biodiversity and the challenges it faces
3. Encourage practical action by implementing biodiversity friendly practices in schools and surrounding
communities.
4. Promote gender equality by highlighting role of women in environmental science and conservation
