Introduction to programming paradigms - Simple model of Computer - Algorithms and Flowcharts
- Structure of C program - Applications of C Language - Data Types – Constants - Enumeration -
Keywords – Number System.

UNIT II OPERATOR AND EXPRESSIONS 9


Data Input and Output statements – Operators: Arithmetic Operators, Relational Operators, Logical
Operators, Increment and Decrement Operators, Bitwise Operators, Assignment Operators and
Expressions, Precedence and Order of Evaluation – Decision Making and Branching – Looping
statements.

UNIT III ARRAYS AND STRINGS 9


Arrays – Initialization – Declaration – One dimensional array – Two dimensional arrays - String -
String operations: length, compare, concatenate, copy – Arrays of strings - Simple programs:
Sorting, Searching and Matrix operations.

UNIT IV FUNCTIONS AND POINTERS 9


Function – Definition of function – Function Prototypes - Pass by value - Pass by reference -
Recursion. Pointers: Definition- Initialization -Pointer Arithmetic- Pointers and Arrays.

UNIT V STRUCTURES, UNION AND FILES 9
