PRELIMINARIES
The chairperson for the meeting Terry Kiplagat called the meeting to order at 4:00pm. The
meeting was opened by a word of prayer by Modecai Atinga.
The secretary read the previous minutes and were proposed to be true minutes by Seth Odongo
and seconded as true minutes by Shadrack Karipei.
MATTERS ARISING FROM THE PREVIOUS MINUTES
KPA TRAINING WORKSHOP
The training workshop that was proposed earlier to take place in Malindi had not materialized as
the darts management was still pursuing other mechanism and protocols and making
arrangements towards the same. This will still be effected at the appropriate time.
ESTABLISHING DARTS STANDS
The proposed additional darts boards for training that were proposed to be erected at the KPA
Makupa welfare training area is waiting the quality quotations to implement. This is as well in
preparation to host the East African darts tournament. Five countries are expected to attend the
tournament. Ideally it was proposed that the there would be mobile darts stands at the basket
court or at the flower garden near the place of the current darts area.
FERRY TOURNAMENT
The coaches were tasked to ensure that the ferry tournament to take place as scheduled. Ferry
team to organize the crossing of the ferry to the venue.
MIN 001/05/25: TANZANIA TOURNAMENT
The team manager informed players that there would be a Darts Tournament in Tanzania from
27th to 29th June 2025 . the expected date of travel for the players is on 25th June 2025. The
number of players to travel and represent KPA in Tanzania shall be officially communicated
after approval form the Sports management for KPA.
The players were advised to continue training and secure genuine travel documents (passport and
yellow fever card). Mary Mailu, Shadrack Karipei, Modecai Atinga and Benard Omondi were
tasked to ensure players to secure the right documents in the right way. The players were asked
to secure the documents as early as possible.
MIN 002/05/25 PLAYERS PERFOMANCE
The players were invited to talk about their performance and it was noted that the players
performance had greatly improved as majority reported their average to be above 50. The Team
manager encouraged the darters to train hard in preparation of the upcoming tournament.
MIN 003/05/2025 KICOSO GAMES.
The team is looking for to attend the KICOSO games this year. The KPA teams have already
done the trails to awaiting the KICOSO games. The players are as well training hard and are
determined to represent KPA well and to perform well.
MIN 004/05/2025 TRAINING DISCIPLINE
Members were encouraged to keep training as any consideration to play participate in a
tournament will be based training attendance and discipline.
It was agreed that discipline is paramount and all the darters to exercise all levels of discipline. If
any cases of indiscipline are noted, the ones in charge of discipline (Seth and Reuben) have been
given the mandate to handle such matters.
MIN 005/05/25 KPA DARTS WELFARE
It was agreed by members that its high time to have an active darts welfare for players as advised
by the KPA sports office. The welfare shall be guided by the constitution. The welfare will cater
for matters concerning bereavement and other agreed upon emergencies.
It further agreed that;
Registration for membership -kshs.1000/=
Monthly contribution -kshs. 1000/=
Having an account at Mombasa port Sacco
The KPA darts chairman had lost the mother and was agreed that every darts player to contribute
at least Kshs.1000 to support the burial arrangements that are underway.
It was also reported that 2 darts players (Loyce and Benard) had lost their family members in the
previous months and it was agreed that the good gesture of contributing for them should be as
well extended to them. It was agreed that the contribution to support the to be done in the month
of June and July for Loyce and Benard respectively.
MIN 006/05/25 KPA DARTS REPRESENTATIVES FOR TANZANIA TOURNAMENT
The team is prepared to have all the 40 players to represent KPA in Tanzania but due to the
nature of work the team is requesting to have at least 24 players for the assignment.
This includes;
1 Team manager
1 coach
6 ladies
14 men
1 representative from the Prison team, Stima team and the Kenya Darts association)
ANY OTHER BUSINESS
Players requested the KPA sports office to support the KPA darts instead of players contributing
to purchase uniforms
The coaches to recommend the quality of items and other requirements to be purchased
It was communicated that on 28th June 2025 there will KPA awards for interdepartmental games.
Team players (double teams) to continue training.
There being no more deliberations the meeting was adjourned at 7:20 pm by a ward of prayer
from Modecai.
