Functions of Communication

Communication is a process of exchanging information, ideas, thoughts, feelings, and emotions through various mediums between a sender and receiver. The sender encodes a message to send through a channel, which the receiver decodes. There are four main functions of communication: providing information, giving commands or instructions, influencing or persuading others, and integrating diverse elements into a cohesive whole to maintain stability. Effective communication requires understanding between the sender and receiver, as well as feedback within the process.
