Larry Page co-founded Google and currently serves as CEO of Google's parent company Alphabet. He became interested in computers at a young age through his parents who were software engineers. He received degrees from the University of Michigan and Stanford University. Page started Google in 1998 with Sergey Brin to organize the world's information and make it universally accessible through search. Under Page's leadership, Google has grown exponentially and he is committed to philanthropic causes like renewable energy, global poverty and public health. Lawrence Edward Page a.k.a. Larry Page was born March 26,1973 in East Lansing, Michigan, USA. He holds a Bachelor of Science in computer engineering from the University of Michigan with honors and a Masters of Science in computer science from Stanford University. Computer Science Ph.D. program at Stanford University

His parents were Software engineers, and his house was usually a mess, with computers and Popular Science magazines all over the place. His attraction to computers started when he was 6 years old. He became the "first kid in his elementary school to turn in an assignment from a word processor. His older brother also taught him to take things apart and before long he was taking "everything in his house apart to see how it worked"

In 2002 Larry Page, was named in the MIT Technology Review as one of the top 100 innovators in the world under the age of 35. In 2003 Page received an honorary MBA from IE Business School "for embodying the entrepreneurial spirit and lending momentum to the creation of new businesses. In 2004, Page was named "Persons of the Week along with Sergey Brin by ABC World News Tonight.

In 2005, Page was elected into Fellows of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences In 2009, Page received an honorary doctorate from the University of Michigan In 2011, he was ranked 24th on the Forbes list of billionaires and as the 11th richest person in the United States.

CONTRIBUTION TO THE SOCIETY


Googles Philanthropic Arm - Google.org, focuses on climate change and global issues of poverty and public heath. The company through an online poll selects non-profit initiatives to receive $10 million in Google.org donations Larry is Committed towards Environmentally Sustainable Technology and therefore Google has the largest solar power capacity of any corporate campus in the United States. Even the grounds of its green campus are grazed by a flock of goats.

CONTRIBUTION TO THE SOCIETY


Larry Page is an active investor in alternative energy companies such as Tesla Motors, which developed the Tesla Roadster, a 244-mile (393 km) range battery electric vehicle.

Google seeks the expansion of broadband access. It provides free wireless broadband service throughout the city of Mountain View, and is exploring the possibility of expanding to other cities
