Oil is a nonrenewable source of energy that is extracted from the ground and refined. Crude oil is extracted using drills and pumps, then transported and refined to separate out compounds like hydrogen that can be used for fuel and energy. New technologies are being developed to extract oil from sources like oil sands using closed-loop systems that treat the sands with solvents to remove the oil, which can then be separated and recycled in a cleaner extraction process.

-Crude oil is usable when it is

-When the crude oil is starting to boil
different compounds start to be
boiled. Then these compounds are
taken out to be used

We will need drills and pumps to
dig up the oil in the ground we
also need refiners.
- Hydrogen could power fuel
cells
- To use crude oil we will need
ships for transport and a
proper refinement system
- Through that we can refine it
and pull out compounds for
energy

New Technologies
-MCW energy uses a patented closed-loop technology that
treats the sands with a solvent that helps remove the oil.
-The oil and solvent are separated, with the latter recycled for
the next batch of production.
- According to CEO Gerald Bailey, the finished sand is 99.9
percent clean and can be put back on the ground.
