pivot for the transmission of intellectual traditions and technical
skills from generation to generation and helps to keep the lamp of
civilization burning.

Gurus occupy a prominent place in Hinduism. Almost all the
prominent deities of Hinduism act as gurus to reveal divine
knowledge or teach specific skills.

Vedic age: Teachers were a source of illumination giving us a correct

lead in the various spheres of life.

In the Vedic tradition, a Guru was a reputed priest (brahmana) who

performed purification ceremonies and initiated young students
into the study of the Vedas.

In ancient India, spiritual teachers who taught the higher

knowledge of the Vedas (brahma vidyas) and liberation (moksha)
commanded utmost respect. They performed an obligatory duty
and a selfless service.

gurukul where shishyas were absorbed into the
system by gurus, who trained them for various

knowledge through years of penance, meditation
and learnings from nature and travel.

enough to have a normal lifestyle, they also provide words of wisdom every day which shape
the personality of the child.

A friend, philosopher and guide They provide a friendly shoulder to cry on when the kid is in a
problem, they tell about the philosophies of life so that the child could take lessons and apply to
his/her own life and they guide the child to follow the right path.

Well-wishers Teachers are the ones who have full knowledge of the childs life, the
environment back home, his mindset and his capabilities.

Nation builder The children are the future and the teachers are the ones who are getting them

advisors towards parents.
