Supply Chain Management-Binus

SCM involves coordinating the flows of raw materials, information, and finances between entities involved in business transactions. It includes physical flows of products from suppliers to customers as well as returns, services, recycling, and disposal. Information flows include demand forecasts, purchase orders, and shipping status reports. Financial flows include credit card information, terms, and payment schedules. Key SCM elements include advanced planning and scheduling, order fulfillment, transportation planning, and distribution planning. SCM aims to coordinate a push-based supply chain with manufacturer forecasts and a pull-based chain using customer point-of-sale data. Effective SCM strategies evolve from a store focus to a collaborative partner focus and direct customer focus.
