Activity 1. Incomplete Dom

This document describes two crosses involving plants with red, pink, and white flowers to demonstrate incomplete dominance. The first cross is between two pink-flowered plants and produces offspring with genotypes of 1 RR, 2 RW, and 1 WW, resulting in a phenotypic ratio of 1 red, 2 pink, and 1 white. The second cross is between a red-flowered plant and a pink-flowered plant, producing offspring with genotypes of 2 RR and 2 RW, resulting in a phenotypic ratio of 2 red and 2 pink.

• Q1. How many types of gametes will each parent produce in problem no. 1?
No. 2?
• ANSWER: Problem no. 1 : two types of gametes ( RW and RW)
Problem no. 2 : one parent will have 1 type ( RR) and the
other parent will have 2 types ( RW)
Q2. PINK FLOWERS
Q3. Problem no. 1 : 1 red, 2 pink, 1 white
Problem no. 1: 2 red, 2 pink
Q4. Problem no. 1; 1RR, 2RW, 1WW
Problem no. 2 : 2RR, 2RW
CONCLUSION:
With incomplete dominance, a cross
between organisms with two different
phenotypes produces offspring with a third
phenotype that is a blending of the parental
traits.
